EFCC Returns $120,548 And N70 Million To Foreign Fraud Victims

In its continued fight against economic and financial crimes, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has refunded a total of $120,548.43 and ₦70,602,841.46 to fraud victims from the United States, Spain, and Switzerland.

The funds, recovered from local fraudsters, were handed over to the foreign victims as part of the EFCC’s commitment to ensuring justice and restitution for those affected by fraudulent activities.

The anti-graft agency reiterated its dedication to tracking down financial criminals and recovering stolen assets, emphasizing that such efforts strengthen Nigeria’s credibility in the global fight against financial crimes.

This latest recovery and restitution underscore the EFCC’s resolve to protect both local and international victims of fraud, reinforcing its role as a leading force in the fight against corruption.

  Comfort Emmanson, a passenger of Ibom Air who had a fight with officials has been arraigned and remanded in custody.   A video of her in a flight inbound Lagos from Uyo has since gone viral.   The Special Adviser to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, on Media and Communications, Tunde Moshood, who revealed this, said Emmanson has been remanded in the Kirikiri correctional facility.   Moshood disclosed this in a post on X on Monday shortly after the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), said enforcement action will soon become more frequent in Nigerian airports as unruly conduct by passengers becomes rampant.

Ibom Air Bans Passenger For Life After Violent Assault On Crew And Security At Lagos Airport

Nigerian air carrier, Ibom Airlines Limited has banned a passenger identified as Comfort Emmanson, from flying with its airline after she was found assaulting one of the crew members of their aircraft. Emmanson had in a viral video repeatedly slapped a Purser with Ibom Aircraft after she was allegedly told to switch off her phone before take-off. Confirming the incident in a statement on Monday, Ibom Air said the incident happened on Sunday while Emmanson was on board their Uyo to Lagos flight. The statement read, “Shortly before take-off from Uyo, Ms. Emmanson was instructed in line with standard aviation safety procedures to switch off her mobile phone. She bluntly refused to comply until the Pilot-in-Command made an announcement, after which a fellow passenger seated beside her took the phone and switched it off. “This action prompted a verbal tirade from Ms. Emmanson.
