EFCC Returns $120,548 And N70 Million To Foreign Fraud Victims

In its continued fight against economic and financial crimes, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has refunded a total of $120,548.43 and ₦70,602,841.46 to fraud victims from the United States, Spain, and Switzerland.

The funds, recovered from local fraudsters, were handed over to the foreign victims as part of the EFCC’s commitment to ensuring justice and restitution for those affected by fraudulent activities.

The anti-graft agency reiterated its dedication to tracking down financial criminals and recovering stolen assets, emphasizing that such efforts strengthen Nigeria’s credibility in the global fight against financial crimes.

This latest recovery and restitution underscore the EFCC’s resolve to protect both local and international victims of fraud, reinforcing its role as a leading force in the fight against corruption.

 A 42-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested for the alleged murder of his Spanish wife, Catalina, 48, in Benalmádena, a town in Costa del Sol, Spain.   The Nigerian identified as Augustine also set fire to the family home, where the victim lived with the couple's three children - all minors - and another son from a previous relationship. The incident happened at around 5.25am this Sunday morning, 9 February. 2025. The arrested man was the one who first phoned the 112 Andalucía emergency service system and reported the fire at a property, located in Benalmádena Pueblo, but without indicating that it was or had been his house. A Local Police patrol quickly arrived at the scene and rescued the children.   Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba, the popular celebrity ‘juju master’, has been picked up by men of Anambra State vigilante operatives, known as Agunechemba. Akwa Okuko was arrested on Saturday according to a post on Soludo TV Facebook page. The post said he was being detained for further investigation by the security agency. “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba denies okeite and has been detained for further investigation by the Security Agency,”  the post read. He was arrested following allegations that he prepares juju for kidnappers who masquerades as yahoo boys, terrorising the State. Arnoldo Jimenez, a fugitive on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list for allegedly killing his wife, Estrella Carrera, on their wedding night in Illinois over 12 years ago, has been arrested in Mexico. FBI agents arrested Jimenez on Friday night in Monterrey, Mexico, during an operation involving FBI delegations from Chicago, San Antonio, and LEGAT Mexico City, along with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. “The FBI is extremely appreciative of the Burbank Police Department, our law enforcement partners in Mexico, and the public for their tremendous investigative efforts and collaboration in the capture of Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Arnoldo Jimenez,” Douglas S. Lord’s Chosen Church Members Killed By Herdsmen In Nkaleha, Ebonyi State
