Tems Becomes The First African Woman To Co-own US Football Club San Diego FC

Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems, has acquired a stake at Major League Soccer (MLS) football club, San Diego FC, USA.
 
This was announced by SDFC stating that Tems joined the ownership group through her company, The Leading Vibe.
 
In the process, Tems became the first African woman to be involved in MLS ownership.
 
“We are delighted that Tems has joined San Diego FC as a club partner,” SDFC chairman Sir Mohamed Mansour said in a statement.
 
“Tems is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread the word about our unique project, which, of course, has its foundations in sub-Saharan Africa through the unique Right to Dream organisation.”
 
Reacting to her addition as the latest partner in SDFC’s ownership group, the singer said: “I am thrilled to join San Diego FC’s ownership group and to be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of community.
 
“Football has a unique way of bringing people together, and I am excited to help build something special in San Diego, a city that thrives on diversity and innovation.”

42-Year-Old Nigerian Man Arrested For Killing His Spanish Wife And Setting Fire To Family Home In Spain

 A 42-year-old Nigerian national has been arrested for the alleged murder of his Spanish wife, Catalina, 48, in Benalmádena, a town in Costa del Sol, Spain.   The Nigerian identified as Augustine also set fire to the family home, where the victim lived with the couple's three children - all minors - and another son from a previous relationship. The incident happened at around 5.25am this Sunday morning, 9 February. 2025. The arrested man was the one who first phoned the 112 Andalucía emergency service system and reported the fire at a property, located in Benalmádena Pueblo, but without indicating that it was or had been his house.   Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba, the popular celebrity ‘juju master’, has been picked up by men of Anambra State vigilante operatives, known as Agunechemba. Akwa Okuko was arrested on Saturday according to a post on Soludo TV Facebook page. Arnoldo Jimenez, a fugitive on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list for allegedly killing his wife, Estrella Carrera, on their wedding night in Illinois over 12 years ago, has been arrested in Mexico. FBI agents arrested Jimenez on Friday night in Monterrey, Mexico, during an operation involving FBI delegations from Chicago, San Antonio, and LEGAT Mexico City, along with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. “The FBI is extremely appreciative of the Burbank Police Department, our law enforcement partners in Mexico, and the public for their tremendous investigative efforts and collaboration in the capture of Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Arnoldo Jimenez,” Douglas S. Lord’s Chosen Church Members Killed By Herdsmen In Nkaleha, Ebonyi State

  At least six members, including the pastor of The Lord’s Chosen Church, Nkaleha in Ebonyi state have been killed by suspected herdsmen.   The incident happened last week Sunday.   The herdsmen didn't spare people in churches, as many of the Lord’s Chosen worshippers were butchered.   It was gathered that over 30 people are believed to have been killed so far and several houses destroyed.   Reacting, the youth wing of apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide expressed outrage over the murder of scores of people in Ebonyi State community by suspected Fulani herdsmen.   A viral video in circulation shows dead bodies littering the scene, with villagers wailing uncontrollably.   Village sources said the killing was carried out by herders in retaliation for alleged killing of their cattle.   Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru has already condemned the incident, which he blamed on strangers.   Reacting on ...
