20-Year-Old Apprentice Allegedly Kills Boss, Dumps Body Inside Well In Ondo State

A 27-year-old man, Savior Joseph, has been killed by his apprentice, Josiah Godwin, 20, in Ondo State.

After allegedly hacking his master to death, Godwin was said to dump his corpse inside a well.

The incident happened at Imafon Community, in Akure South Local Government Area of the State.

The deceased was allegedly killed following a dispute between the two, when deceased, who specialized in fixing POP ceilings, smashed the phone of his apprentice on the floor.

According to the elder brother of the deceased, Odey Julius Ogbaji, the body of the deceased was found four days ago in a well at the site where the deceased and the apprentice went to work.

“Last week, on Tuesday, the deceased called me in the morning, and we spoke; on Wednesday, I tried his number but couldn’t get through, I thought he had a flat battery.

“It wasn’t until Saturday that I was called by another younger brother of mine, briefing me on how efforts to reach the deceased have been abortive.

“When we checked the phone, he said it had been smashed on the floor by the deceased, but there was no scratch on it.”

Aside from that, you switched off your phone and you didn’t report anything to anybody.”

Meanwhile, the suspect has been arrested and transferred to the Police Criminal Investigative Department, CID, at the Police headquarters, Akure, for further investigation.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisayan, said the suspect is now in custody.

Immigration Officer Bags 7-Year Jail Term Over Passport Fraud

  The  Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has secured the conviction of Quadri Ismail Adeyinka, a staff of the Nigeria Immigration Service for committing travel passport fraud. ICPC  arraigned the convict before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja, on a four-count charge bordering on gratification, conferment of corrupt advantage and cheating contrary to extant provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000 and the Penal Code Act. Counsel to ICPC, Dr Osuobeni Ekoi Akponimisingha, in the course of the trial, led evidence before the court on how Adeyinka defrauded Ovie Justice Ojeffia under the pretence of regularising the latter’s international passport. Veteran Nollywood Actress, Stella Ikwuegbu Is Dead

Nollywood has been plunged into mourning as veteran actress Stella Ikwuegbu passed away on Sunday.  A cloud of sorrow has therefore enveloped the Nigerian film industry as fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans grapple with the devastating news and reflect on Ikwuegbu’s immense contributions to Nollywood over the years.
