Super Eagles Of Nigeria Drops To 34th Position, 3rd In Africa In The Latest FIFA Ranking


Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped one place, from 33rd to 34th in the latest ranking released by FIFA on Thursday.  The Super Eagles, who were held to a 2-2 draw by Ukraine in a friendly last week at the Dnipro Arena gathered 1482 points during the month under review.

Gernot Rohr’s men however remain unmoved in Africa as they maintained third position behind the Teranga Lions of Senegal (20th in the world) and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia (29th). Reigning African champions, the Desert Foxes of Algeria (38th) and Morocco (39th) completes the top five teams on the continent.
Benin Republic and Lesotho, the Super Eagles opponents in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double header billed to hold on November 10th and 14th ,are 18th and 39th respectively in Africa and are 83rd and 137th in the world in the latest FIFA Ranking
Nigeria will face five-time World Champions, Brazil in a friendly on October 13 at the National Stadium in Singapore. Belgium remain in top position with 1752 points, France are second, Brazil third, England fourth and Portugal are fifth. The next FIFA World Rankings will be released on 24 October 2019.
