Court Sentences FCDA Employee, Kingsley Eselebor To 25 Years Imprisonment For Land Fraud
A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) sitting in Abuja has sentenced Kingsley Eselebor, an employee of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), to 25 years in prison for land fraud and document forgery.
Justice A.O. Musa delivered the verdict on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, finding Eselebor guilty on all five counts brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The judge sentenced Eselebor to seven years’ imprisonment on counts one, two, and three, and two years each on counts four and five, without an option of a fine. The sentence will run concurrently.
The court documents showed that Eselebor, attached to the FCDA’s Department of Urban and Regional Planning, defrauded his neighbour and fellow church member, Moses Osinachi, over the sale of two plots of land in Kubwa District of Abuja.
Relying on his position at the FCDA and presenting forged conveyance documents under the names Yusuf Lawan and Adegoke Asiwaju, Eselebor convinced Osinachi to transfer funds for Plots 383 and 424 through his company account, Moscow International Services Limited.
The fraud unravelled when Osinachi attempted to take possession of the properties and discovered that Eselebor possessed no valid titles to the land. Subsequent promises to provide alternative plots or issue a refund were not kept, leading Osinachi to petition the EFCC.
Reacting to the ruling, EFCC prosecution counsel, Joshua Saidi, stated that the conviction serves as a stern warning against land racketeering and abuse of the public office to commit fraud.
