ELECTION RESULTS: “Those Claiming Lagos Is No Man’s Land Have Been Defeated” – Femi Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has claimed that the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has defeated his opponents in the Saturday governorship poll.

Sanwo-Olu, who is seeking re-election for his second tenure, battled for the governorship seat against the candidates of the Labour Party (LP), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, better known as Jandor.

In a tweet after the election on Saturday, Fani-Kayode claimed that the LP candidate and the PDP flagbearer have been defeated.

He wrote, “Those that believed that Lagos is a ‘no man’s land’ have been roundly defeated, badly humiliated and finally taught the lesson of their lives by voters today in a peaceful, free and fair election. The matter is settled and the message is 8-fold:

“That God answers prayers even in the most complicated situations and difficult circumstances, that He is able to deliver us from the hands of our strong enemies and the enemy within and that He rules in the affairs of men. That Lagos belongs to the Yoruba.

“That @jidesanwoolu remains Governor of Lagos state regardless of the threats, plotting, scheming, rantings and ramblings of envious, hate-filled, bitter, demon-possessed and satanically- inspired men.”

It was gathered that results flying on social media suggest that the incumbent governor is in early lead, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is yet to announce any winner.
