"I'm No Longer In The World" - Shina Peller Resigns From Quilox Night Club

A member of the House of Representatives and owner of Quilox night club, Shina Peller, has revealed that he has resigned from the management of the club since he became a member of the House. The lawmaker revealed this while speaking on a motion to prevent sales of alcohol to underage. Chinedu Martins on Wednesday moved a motion on the need to curb consumption of alcohol by underage youths in Nigeria.
Peller while speaking on the motion said: “When I was in the world, we don’t sell alcohol to underage.” Adding “in line with the constitution, I have stepped down from the club.” The Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila, on a jovial note asked: “Where are you now?” Adding that the house will send a delegation to confirm if indeed the club is not selling alcohol to minors.
The mover of the motion, Mr. Martins in his motion said that “alcohol consumption among teenagers has led to an increased tendency towards violence in schools and related environments, high incidence of school dropouts and cases of physical and mental challenges.The house, therefore, called on the Federal Ministry of Health to liaise with the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Consumer Protection Council (CPC) to put mechanisms in place to implement the age restriction on alcohol consumption.
The House also urged the Federal Ministry of Education to liaise with the Federal Ministry of Health to carry out alcohol prevention campaigns in Secondary Schools to educate students on the danger of alcohol use and abuse and urged the National Orientation Agency to embark on public enlightenment and awareness campaigns to discourage liquor stores, restaurants, night clubs, and beer parlours from the sale of alcohol to under-aged children, especially those less than 18 years of age.
The house also mandated the Committees on Health Care Services and Information, National Orientation Ethics and Values to ensure implementation.

Bobrisky Falls Ill In Police Custody, Rushed To Hospital

  Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly fallen ill while in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos. After spending the night in a police cell, Bobrisky was rushed to Falomo Police Hospital for medical attention. A source confirmed the development, stating that he was transferred from the FCID to the hospital for treatment. The source said,  “Bobrisky complained of ‘breast’ pain and was rushed to the Police Hospital in the Falomo area of Lagos around 2:00 p.m. in an ambulance with the plate number LND 339L.   The  Magistrates' Court in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, denied bail to prominent broadcast journalist Chinonso Uba, popularly known as Nonso Nkwa, and ordered him to be remanded at the Owerri Correctional Centre on Wednesday. Uba was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate, His Worship Adikaibe, on five counts preferred against him by N.S.   The government of Equatorial Guinea has dismissed Baltasar Ebang Engonga as Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) after a series of over 400 sex tapes involving him and multiple women surfaced online.   A  shooting spree in Awka, Anambra State capital on Thursday morning, has claimed several lives. One of the sources, a student, said the shooting happened in Ifite Awka, at approximately 9:15 a.m., leaving several people dead. Lifeless Body Of Young Woman Found Dumped By Roadside In Delta After Visit To Man She Met On A Dating Site

  A  young Nigerian woman who has been identified as Precious Yusuf has been found dead in Asaba, in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State. The body of the deceased was found by the roadside opposite Falcon Club, Asaba. Her waist region was covered with a black and white cloth, suggestive of alleged mutilation of her private part for ritual purposes. She had reportedly gone to visit a guy she met on a dating site, iHappy Dating, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Koka Junction, Asaba, the state capital and never returned.
