China Fires Back At Trump, Slams US With 34% Tariff On Imports

China has imposed 34% tariffs on imports from the United States US.
 
This is coming hours after President Donald Trump unveiled the same amount against Beijing under his reciprocal tariff plan.
 
The new China tariffs against the US are expected to go into effect on April 10, according to The Wall Street Journal.
 
China’s Ministry of Commerce said on Friday that the tariff, which matches Trump’s latest increase in duties on Beijing, would be imposed on all imported goods from the United States.
 
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, who also confirmed this at a briefing in Beijing, lamented that the US announced tariff hikes on imports from many countries, including China, under the pretext of reciprocity.
 
According to him, Trump’s tariffs “gravely violate” World Trade Organization rules, stressing that it undermines the rules-based multilateral trading system.
 
Recall that the developments are moving the world closer to a full-blown trade war.

Court Orders Nigerian Government To Serve Court Documents On Nnamdi Kanu Ahead Of Trial

  The Federal High Court in Abuja has given an order to the Federal Government.   It ordered the Federal Government to always serve Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu with documents and materials intended to be submitted as exhibits before they are tendered in court.   Justice James Omotosho said such documents and materials must be front loaded and be made available to the defendant as required by law so as not to catch him unawares in the defense of terrorism charges filed against him.   The judge issued the order on Tuesday during the resumption of Kanu’s trial on terrorism charges.   Issues arose when the second prosecution witness (PW2), codenamed as PWBBB, testified that he was assigned by the Attorney General of the Federation to investigate Kanu.   He described Kanu as the operator of Radio Biafra and the founder of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
