Rick Ross Attacked After Playing Drake’s Diss Track At Canadian Concert

  Popular US rapper, Rick Ross has been attacked after his performance at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver, Canada. Rick Ross  reportedly accosted for playing Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’, a track directed at a Canadian singer. Drake, to wrap up his performance. The men, according to TMZ, were said to have been 15 in number, fighting the US singer and his crew immediately they left the stage. The confrontation, which started as a verbal altercation, escalated into a violent one after one of the men punched Ross in the face. It remains unknown if anyone was injured or arrested by the authorities. Recall that Ross, in May 2024, expressed support for Kendrick Lamar during his rift with Drake. After which, Drake took a swipe at him in the track ‘Push Ups’. Rick Ross also clapped back at Drake in his track titled ‘Champagne Moments’.

Judge Postpones Donald Trump's Sentencing To September After Supreme Court's Verdict

  A judge on Tuesday postponed former United States' president, Donald Trump’s sentencing in his New York hush money case to September for ruling.  This was as the former president seeks to have his conviction overturned following a Supreme Court ruling that granted him some immunity in a separate criminal case. In a letter on Tuesday afternoon, Judge Juan Merchan said he would resolve Trump's motion to set aside the verdict on September 6 and postponed his sentencing, "if such is still necessary," until September 18. Trump's lawyers launched their effort to get the verdict tossed out just hours after the Supreme Court's Monday ruling, which said Trump is immune from criminal prosecution for some official acts in his federal election interference case in Washington.  According to MSNBC, Trump’s lawyers argued on Monday that Manhattan prosecutors built their case in part based on evidence from Trump’s time in office, as The New York Times pointed out.   Joseph Aloba, the father of late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba popularly known as Mohbad, has made a public call asking for any lady who might have a child with his late son to come forward. He  said he would be happy to see that his late son left a child behind. Aloba noted that he is willing to conduct a DNA test to confirm the child’s paternity. Speaking  in a video message shared via his TikTok page, he said:  “Any woman on earth that has a child for Mohbad should please come out now. It will be a great joy for me to finally know that my son Mohbad left a child behind and to see my grandchild. All we need to do is to conduct a DNA test.” It was gathered that Joseph Aloba has been demanding a DNA test from his daughter-in-law, Wunmi, to confirm if her son, Liam, is truly Mohbad’s. Wunmi’s refusal to conduct a DNA test has caused a strain on the duo’s relationship. He  has also stated severally that he has doubts about his grandson, Liam’s paternity.

South African singer, Tyla was named Best New Artiste at the BET Awards 2024 on Monday. Tyla’s debut single, ‘Water’, catapulted her to global fame and earned her several accolades, including the inaugural Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance in February 2024. At 22 years old, she became the youngest African artiste to receive a Grammy. In the early hours of Monday, she accepted the award for Best New Artist, edging out her fellow African act, Ayra Starr, 41, 4Batz, Bossman Dlow, Fridayy, October London and Sexyy Red. In her acceptance speech, Tyla said, “This is such a gift to be here. I want to dedicate this one to Africa.   The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has clarified that social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, was not arrested but was instead invited for questioning.  According to a statement by SP Josephine Adeh, the Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Police Command, VeryDarkMan was invited for questioning on allegations of cyber stalking, cyber bullying, and defamation of character. The FCT Police Command wishes to clarify that VeryDarkMan was not arrested by the police but was only invited for questioning on the allegations of cyber stalking, cyber bullying, and defamation of character,” Adeh stated. VeryDarkMan has since been released after voluntarily providing his statement regarding the allegations. The police statement aimed to correct earlier reports of VeryDarkMan’s arrest, which had gone viral on social media.
