Federal Government Okays Issuance Of New Mobile Lines With NIN

The Federal Government has sanctioned activation of new mobile lines with the National Identification Number (NIN) in line with the revised National Digital Identity Policy for SIM card registration.

In a statement yesterday in Abuja, the Technical Assistant (Information Technology) to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Femi Adeluyi, observed that the implementation of the policy would begin on Monday, April 19,2021, adding that issuance of new SIMs and other activities are resuming the same date once instruction had been obeyed.

Adeluyi said his boss had also directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) and the Nigerian Information Management Commission (NIMC) to ensure that the policy was strictly adhered to by operators and subscribers.
