  Abdulsalam Suliyat Modasola, the Nigerian singer and songwriter, who is popularly known as Liya, has revealed why she left Davido Music Worldwide (DMW). Liya, who was the first female artist to sign with DMW in October 2020, said she exited the record label because she wanted more for herself. The singer had announced her exit from the label in 2023 during an Instagram question-and-answer session. Replying to a fan who asked if she was still with DMW, she wrote,  “Nopee, but #30bg for lifee. Speaking on a recent episode of Wahala with Josy Anne, the singer said leaving the label was not an easy decision. “Why did I leave? I just wanted more for myself, as a person and as an artist. I wanted more for myself. It was sad, it was depressing, I was tired, I was sick, but it was a decision that I had to make for myself. In a recent statement, Odumeje argued that conducting DNA tests goes against traditional Igbo cultural beliefs. He emphasized that any child born within a marriage should automatically be recognized as the husband’s, framing such acceptance as a key aspect of marital and cultural integrity. The cleric further questioned the reliability of DNA testing in Nigeria, claiming that local laboratories cannot always be fully trusted to provide accurate results. According to him, this uncertainty raises doubts about the validity of paternity tests conducted in the country. Odumeje’s comments have reignited debates on social media, with some supporting his stance on cultural norms, while others argue that modern science should take precedence when questions of paternity arise.

Police Arrest Church General Overseer For Impregnating A 16-Year-Old Girl In Anambra State

  The  Anambra State Police have arrested Favour Ezani, an evangelist and General Overseer, for allegedly impregnating a 16-year-old girl who was brought to his home for prayers and healing in the commercial town of Nnewi. It was gathered that the  victim, Miss Precious Okafor was taken to the self-acclaimed man of God in his residence at Amichi community in Nnewi South local government area for spiritual healing. The suspect who claims to be the General Overseer of a Pentecostal Church in the area was arrested by men of the Special Anti-Touting Squad (SASA), a security outfit of the state government. Evang Favour Ezani admitted to the crime. He also confessed to mixing bitter leaf with other herbs for the girl to get rid of the pregnancy to avert public shame.
