Actor John Dumelo Wins Parliamentary Election In Ghana

 


Popular Ghanaian actor cum politician, John Dumelo has emerged the winner of Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency election.

Dumelo, who contested on the platform of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), defeated the incumbent, Lydia Alhassan of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He was declared the winner of the parliamentary election held during the country’s general elections on Saturday December 7, 2024.

The actor won his constituency with 40,561 votes, while Lydia Alhassan polled 27,377.

Recall that the actor contested for the constituency seat in 2020, but narrowly lost to Alhassan.

Dumelo, who began his acting career in 1991 while he was still in school, has since appeared in various Gollywood and Nollywood movies.
