“I’m Concerned” - Steven Gerrard Makes Honest Admission About Being Sacked After Latest Defeat
Aston Villa boss, Steven Gerrard has made an honest admission after his side’s 2-1 defeat at Arsenal on Wednesday night.
The Englishman said he is fearing for his job following Villa’s very poor start to the new season.
Gerrard took over at Villa last year following a successful spell with Rangers in Scotland.
But the Liverpool legend could become the second Premier League boss to face the sack this season after Bournemouth opted to sack Scott Parker on Tuesday.
After the game last night, the former England midfielder was asked during a post-match interview if he had concerns over his future as Villa manager.
Gerrard told BT Sport: “Of course I do.
“I’m really honest and self-critical of myself. I’ll do my job the best I can. I’ll step forward, I’ll take the responsibility.
“If I stood here and said to you that I wasn’t concerned, I think you would look at me as if I was on a different planet.”
