US Rapper, FBG Duck Shot Dead In Drive-By Shooting While Out Shopping In Chicago

American rapper FBG Duck was shot and killed in a "drive-by shooting" while he was out shopping in Gold Coast, Chicago on Tuesday, August 4. He was 26.

 

Two vehicles pulled up in front of a store in the Gold Coast, and a pair of shooters emerged from each auto before opening fire on three victims, Chicago Police spokesperson Tom Ahern told the Daily News.

 

The rapper, whose real name was Carlton Weekly, was shot in the chest, groin, and neck and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead at 5:06 p.m. 

 

Another man, 36, and a 25-year-old woman were wounded in the shooting, which took place around the corner from Michigan Ave., Chicago’s central shopping thoroughfare, according to police.

 

The four shooters drove off in a black Ford Taurus and silver Chrysler after unleashing the gunfire steps from Lake Michigan, Ahern said.

 

FBG Duck who grew up on the South Side of Chicago and rose with the Fly Boy Gang, broke out in 2017 with a hit single, “Slide.”

A  federal lawmaker representing the Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in Edo State, Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie has reportedly escaped an assassination attempt.   The  Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced one Courage Ikpaka to two years imprisonment for duping a United States citizen, Mrs Yvelte M. Thompson of $53,000 by impersonating Nigerian musician, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour N’abania. Justice   Dehinde Dipeolu convicted Ikpaka on Tuesday following his guilty plea to a two-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).   A Nigerian nurse, identified as Ruth Auta has been sentenced to three years in jail for causing the death of her ten-week-old baby. The nurse was sentenced by Bolton Crown Court in the UK. It was gathered that the Nigerian woman left the deceased baby Joshua Akerele in her nurse's accommodation for eight hours so she could work her shift on December 20, 2022. The nurse was said to be a single mother, aged 28. When she returned to her room, she found Joshua lifeless in his cot and dialled 999, telling operators her son was not breathing.
