LA Police Arrests 5 People In Connection To Rapper Pop Smoke's Killing

Los Angeles police have arrested five people in connection to the fatal shooting of rapper Pop Smoke during a home invasion in February.

 

Three adult males and two juvenile males have been taken into custody, the Los Angeles Police Department tweeted on Thursday, July 9. No further details were released.

 

The rapper, whose real name was Bashar Jackson, was fatally shot after masked men broke into a Hollywood Hills home he was staying. He was 20-years-old.

 

Police received a call at around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 from someone who reported that some intruders broke in the rapper's home at 2033 Hercules Drive in Mount Olympus, Los Angeles police said at the time. The 911 call came from a friend of the victim.

 

Multiple people were in the home when the shooting took place, police said.

  A  new experimental brain implantation device, Blindsight, designed to restore vision has been awarded the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) ‘breakthrough device’ designation. The device was created by Elon Musk’s brain chip company, Neuralink, which specialises in developing a brain-chip interface that can be implanted within the skull. A  federal lawmaker representing the Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in Edo State, Prince Henry Odianosen Okojie has reportedly escaped an assassination attempt. Okojie, the husband of the Nollywood movie Star, Mercy Johnson, was reportedly attacked by armed men suspected to be political thugs at his residence in Uromi on Friday morning.   The  Federal High Court in Lagos has sentenced one Courage Ikpaka to two years imprisonment for duping a United States citizen, Mrs Yvelte M. Thompson of $53,000 by impersonating Nigerian musician, Chinedu Okoli popularly known as Flavour N’abania. Justice   Dehinde Dipeolu convicted Ikpaka on Tuesday following his guilty plea to a two-count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).   A Nigerian nurse, identified as Ruth Auta has been sentenced to three years in jail for causing the death of her ten-week-old baby. The nurse was sentenced by Bolton Crown Court in the UK. It was gathered that the Nigerian woman left the deceased baby Joshua Akerele in her nurse's accommodation for eight hours so she could work her shift on December 20, 2022. The nurse was said to be a single mother, aged 28. When she returned to her room, she found Joshua lifeless in his cot and dialled 999, telling operators her son was not breathing.
