Sarkodie Wins Best International Flow At BET Hip Hop Awards 2019
Ghanaian Hip Hop artiste, Michael Owusu Addo popularly known as Sarkodie took home the Best International Flow Award, beating off competition from fellow Africans Nasty C (South Africa) and Falz (Nigeria) as well as Tory Lanez (Canada), OG Ghetts (UK) and Little Simz (UK). The event which took place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Georgia, United States of America on Saturday night(October 5).
“I want to say a big thank you to the almighty God, to my family,” Sarkodie said during his acceptance speech. "This one is for my little girl. This year is the Year of Return and I will urge each one of you here to take a trip back home it’s going down in Ghana so if you are coming to Africa choose Ghana.”
Another Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy took to Twitter to celebrate Sarkodie's win. "Once upon a time there lived an African musical giant called Sarkodie, a Ghanaian rapper who won the Best International Flow at the BET Hip Hop Awards. Congrats brother, live your destiny.” The full list of winners will be unveiled to the public after the awards are broadcast in the US tomorrow morning. The event will air on BET Africa (DStv channel 129) on 9 October at 6pm WAT.
