British singer, Natalie Okri has stated that some human hairs are sacrifices to deities and unknown gods. The singer made this claim while speaking on why she stopped wearing wigs. According to her, in some parts of Asia, women offer their hair at the temple to purify themselves, to shed bad luck and poverty. Natalie Okri in a video shared on her Instagram page, explained that some of these human hairs are often sold to big vendors. She noted that black women purchasing them might be wearing someone else’s bad luck unknowingly. “There are 3 reasons why I stopped wearing wigs and human hairs: some human hairs are sacrifice to demons, deities and other unknown gods. “A lot of women in some countries like Asia, they go to the temple to sacrifice their hair to their god, believing that their gods will purify and cleanse them. Anja Ringgren Loven, the beloved Danish aid worker, has shared some new adorable photos of a toddler who was abandoned by her family and left to die after being branded a witch in Akwa Ibom state.   The child named Hope, was severely malnourished and in a near-death condition at the time of her rescue in March 2024.   Ms Loven shared the new photos in a Facebook post on Saturday, February 22, 2025, thanking everyone for their support since the rescue.   “I never know what picture to use of baby Hope because they are all good. So here you have all. "Happy Sunday from Land of Hope. Thank you all for supporting our work,”  she wrote in a post on Saturday, February 22, 2025.

In what will come across as a really heartbreaking development, a 27-year-old pastor has been bitten by a Black Mamba during a prayer session in Hazelmere - KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.   Gunmen  attacked Elyon Paradise Ministry in Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, during a Friday night vigil, shooting the pastor and kidnapping six church members, leaving the community reeling in shock. The attack, which occurred around 10 p.m. at the church near Delta State Polytechnic, left Apostle Divine Omodia hospitalised with gunshot wounds. The attack has heightened concerns over security in religious centres, with residents calling on authorities to take swift actions to rescue the abducted victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.   In  what will come across as a really startling development, three Nigerian youngsters have been arrested over their bid to remove a six-month-old foetus for money ritual in Minna, Niger State capital. It was learnt that the suspects, Martha Andrew, James Luka and Johnson John, had lured a pregnant woman from Rafin-Yashin area of Minna to a hotel along the Eastern Bye-pass in Minna in a bid to remove the foetus for ritual purposes. According to the suspects, they had promised to pay the victim N30 million if she could have a miscarriage while still in the hotel. The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident, said the three suspects were tracked and arrested by police operatives of the SCID, Minna around a hotel along Eastern Bye-Pass, Minna. The minister of interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has said that there are plans by the federal government to cancel the visa-on-arrival policy. Tunji-Ojo spoke in Abuja on Friday during the closing ceremony of a weeklong capacity-building training for personnel of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS). The training was on advanced passenger information/passenger name record (API/PNR) data in national security and law enforcement. The visa-on-arrival policy was unveiled in 2020 as a short-stay visa issued at the point of entry. Tunji-Ojo said in place of the policy, the federal government would introduce landing and exit cards, which prospective visitors will pre-fill before coming into the country. He said there is a need to harmonise the immigration data centre and have integrated solutions for decisions that border on migration into Nigeria.
