Tems Becomes The First Nigerian Artiste To Debut Number 1 On Billboard Hot 100

 


Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tems has made history as the first Nigerian artiste to debut No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her feature on Future’s Wait For U. 

The track, which also features Drake, is Future’s second Hot 100 lead single, Drake’s 10th and Tems’ landmark No.1 

Off Future’s LP I Never Liked You the single is one of the three Future tracks on the Hot 100’s top 10 this week, Puffin on Zootiez, at No. 4, 712PM,” at No. 8, and I’m Dat N***a, at No. 10.

In the music video for Wait For You, released last week, Future experiences relationship issues in medieval times, and Drake rides a horse. 

Wait For U is one of two Future and Drake collaborations on I Never Liked You—the second is I’m on One.
