Premier League Footballer Arrested On Suspicion Of Rape And False Imprisonment At His Home

A Premier League footballer(name withheld) has been arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and rape.

 

Police said the alleged incident occurred at his home last month. 

 

Authorities confirmed that officers had executed a warrant at an address and arrested a man on suspicion of rape and false imprisonment on Wednesday, November 11th. 

 

The man has not yet been named for legal reasons but police are still investigating the case. 

 

In the statement to MailOnline, detectives said the man is no longer in their custody but an investigation is still ongoing. 

 

They said: "He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries."

Immigration Officer Bags 7-Year Jail Term Over Passport Fraud

  The  Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has secured the conviction of Quadri Ismail Adeyinka, a staff of the Nigeria Immigration Service for committing travel passport fraud. ICPC  arraigned the convict before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja, on a four-count charge bordering on gratification, conferment of corrupt advantage and cheating contrary to extant provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000 and the Penal Code Act. Counsel to ICPC, Dr Osuobeni Ekoi Akponimisingha, in the course of the trial, led evidence before the court on how Adeyinka defrauded Ovie Justice Ojeffia under the pretence of regularising the latter’s international passport. Nollywood has been plunged into mourning as veteran actress Stella Ikwuegbu passed away on Sunday.  A cloud of sorrow has therefore enveloped the Nigerian film industry as fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans grapple with the devastating news and reflect on Ikwuegbu’s immense contributions to Nollywood over the years.
