Queen Banned Prince Harry, Meghan Markle From Using Royal Titles Over Lack Of Trust

 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had their royal titles removed earlier this year upon their decision to severe ties with the British royal family.

Royal historian Robert Lacey has now laid bare the intentions of Queen Elizabeth II behind her decision of taking away their ‘royal’ brand.

In his book, Battle of Brothers, Lacey revealed that Her Majesty forbade the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from using the royal label as she did not trust them with it.

“It was reliably reported that Her Majesty remained well-disposed towards her grandson and granddaughter-in-law,” he wrote in the book.

"She wished them well in their new life in Canada—and her ‘eighth great-grandchild’ as well, of course. But it was also said by those in the know that the couple’s erratic and impulsive behavior for the past year had not inclined Queen Elizabeth II to entrust the Sussexes with the use of the word ‘royal’ any time soon,” he added.

Earlier, when banning them from using their royal titles, the monarch had issued a statement that read: “While there is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word “Royal” overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use “Sussex Royal” or any iteration of the word “Royal” in any territory (either within the UK or otherwise) when the transition occurs Spring 2020.”

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has confirmed his upcoming wedding to his partner, Chioma Rowland. According to reports on Tuesday Chioma and Davido’s traditional wedding is reportedly scheduled to take place in Lagos on June 25, 2024. EFCC Arrests 14 Suspected Vote-Buyers, Intercepts N11 Million Cash In Imo And Bayelsa States

Immigration Officer Bags 7-Year Jail Term Over Passport Fraud

  The  Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has secured the conviction of Quadri Ismail Adeyinka, a staff of the Nigeria Immigration Service for committing travel passport fraud. ICPC  arraigned the convict before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja, on a four-count charge bordering on gratification, conferment of corrupt advantage and cheating contrary to extant provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000 and the Penal Code Act. Counsel to ICPC, Dr Osuobeni Ekoi Akponimisingha, in the course of the trial, led evidence before the court on how Adeyinka defrauded Ovie Justice Ojeffia under the pretence of regularising the latter’s international passport. Adeyinka,  after receiving the sum of N100,000 from Ojeffia to regularise the said passport, reneged on their agreement. Veteran Nollywood Actress, Stella Ikwuegbu Is Dead

Nollywood has been plunged into mourning as veteran actress Stella Ikwuegbu passed away on Sunday.  A cloud of sorrow has therefore enveloped the Nigerian film industry as fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans grapple with the devastating news and reflect on Ikwuegbu’s immense contributions to Nollywood over the years. Movie producer Stanley Nwoko, also known as Stanley Ontop, announced on his Instagram page that the veteran actress has passed away.  According to his post, she died on Sunday, June 16, 2024.  He said, “Popular Nollywood actress/veteran Mrs stella ikwuegbu is dead. “The veteran Actress left this world today after battling with Leg cancer.
