South African Woman And Her Husband Found Guilty Of Killing Her Ex-boyfriend For Insurance Money

  The  Pretoria High Court in South Africa has convicted a Soshanguve couple, Sibusiso Mahlangu (34) and Lerato Mahlangu (33), after they were found guilty of killing the wife's ex-boyfriend, burning his body and later claiming more than R500,000 from life insurance. The couple were found guilty of premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and three counts of fraud.   The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in a statement on Wednesday, November 19, 2024, said the case stems from a heinous plot orchestrated by the couple.   Prior to her marriage to Sibusiso Mahlangu, Lerato Mahlangu was in a romantic relationship with the deceased, Sibusiso Sithebe, with whom she shares a minor child.   On 2 January 2022, the Mahlangu couple lured Sithebe to their house in Soshanguve, where they killed him. Gunmen Kill Prominent Anambra Architect Four Days To His Mother’s Burial

  Gunmen  have murdered Port Harcourt-based, Anambra-born architect Engr. Asomba Andrew Egbuonu, just four days before the burial of his late mother. Egbuonu, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (FNIA) died on Sunday, November 17, 2024, following complications occasioned by gunshots he sustained after being attacked by gunmen near his hometown in Nnewi, Anambra State. The General Secretary of the Nigerian Institute of Architects (NIA), Chike Chamberlain Ibeanu, who confirmed the tragic incident in a statement, said Egbuonu was killed while finalizing arrangements for his mother’s burial slated for Thursday, November 21. “Distinguished colleague, it is with a painful and heavy heart that I announce the death of our brother, Arc. Diddy’s Jail Cell Allegedly Raided By The Feds

  The  jail cell of embattled Hip-hop mogul and record executive, Sean “Diddy” Combs' was allegedly raided by the Feds who took away “a bunch of privileged materials.” It was gathered that  Combs' lawyer claims investigators grabbed the disgraced music mogul's notes, which were meant for his legal team for an upcoming trial. The raid reportedly happened while Combs remains in police custody in New York City. In a letter requesting an immediate hearing, his lawyers alleged Monday that prosecutors gathered “privileged material, including the defendant’s own written notes” during a raid on Combs’ cell at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Five Feared Dead As Sit-At-Home Enforcers Attack Anambra Communities

  At least  five persons have been killed in Anambra Central Senatorial Zone by gunmen enforcing the outlawed sit-at-home order. The sad incident happened on Monday morning in Anambra State.   Recall that the attacks which happened between 8am and 10am in Abatete, Abagana and Ukpo left no fewer than five persons dead.   A source told the newsmen that the casualties were mainly men of the Anambra Vigilante services.   The first attack was said to have happened in Abatete town, targeting vigilant personnel attached to the town’s President-General (PG).   Three security men were shot and killed in the hail of bullets.   The PG was also said to have been critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.   In separate incidents, the gunmen attacked Abagana and Ukpo communities.   At the Ukpo roundabout, in Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state, one Vigilante Group member and a motorcycle rider were said to have been killed.   Terrifi...

Governor Abiodun's Ex-Aide, Bidemi Rufai Released from U.S. Prison, Faces Deportation After Multimillion-Dollar Fraud Conviction

  Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun’s associate and former aide, Abidemi Rufai, has been released from prison in the United States. The  47-year-old Rufai was released from the U.S. Bureau of Prisons’ custody in Fort Dix, New Jersey, on November 15, 2024, The Gazette understands via correctional documents. The convicted felon would now ready himself for deportation from the U.S. as stipulated in his guilty plea. His Nigerian passport was returned to him on October 21, 2024, after he filed a motion to reduce his sentencing. When he pleaded guilty to allegations of tax fraud and aggravated identity theft in 2022, Mr Rufai waived his rights to challenge deportation after serving out his jail sentence. He was sentenced to 60 months in prison on two counts of fraud in 2022 after prosecutors presented a strong case of multimillion-dollar fraud backed with 100,000 pages of evidence before a federal judge in Tacoma, Washington.
