YAHAYA BELLO: Kogi Assembly Asks Tinubu To Sack EFCC Chairman

  The  Kogi State Assembly has demanded the removal of the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The  lawmakers claimed that there were assassination attempts on the former governor of the state, Yahaya Bello, which they see as a threat to the current governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo. They accused the anti-graft agency of attacking the governor’s lodge unprovoked and suggested the EFCC is acting as if it were above the law. Calling on  President Tinubu to sack Ola Olukoyede, the EFCC boss, and replace him with a new one, the Assembly said his actions show incompetence. During a plenary session, the lawmakers expressed their strong disapproval of EFCC’s “unjustified assault” on the Kogi State Government Lodge, characterising it as an affront to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the Kogi people. APC Sweeps Imo State Local Government Area Election

  The  ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 305 councilorship seats and 27 chairmanship positions in the Imo State local government election held on Saturday. Announcing the results at the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission’s office on Sunday, the Chairman of ISIEC, Charles Ejiogu, said, “The election followed the laid down guidelines and procedures. “We gave room for robust participation. We had meetings with critical stakeholders and all security agencies. “We observed primaries of political parties. Election took place across the 305 wards and 27 LGAs. APC’s Okpebholo Wins Edo Governorship Election

  The  Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo winner of Saturday’s Edo State Governorship Election. The Returning  Officer, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, officially announced Okpebholo winner of the election. This is as the results from all 18 Local Government Areas of the state showed that the Okpebholo won eleven LGAs to defeat the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  Asue Ighodalo and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party (LP). Okpebholo  garnered 291,667 votes to beat Ighodalo and Akpata with 247,274 and 18,737 votes, respectively. Okpebholo will take over from the outgoing Godwin Obaseki at the Osadebe House in Edo State.   Just few hours to the Imo State Local Government elections, the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has called on members of the public to display civility by shunning acts capable of disrupting the electoral process during and after the exercise. The Police also announced that restriction on vehicular movement would be enforced from 12 midnight to 6pm on election day, allowing only essential services, such as medical practitioners, fire service, authorised media and accredited electoral observers to operate to facilitate a smooth voting process. Two Suspects Arrested For Selling Newborn Twins In Lagos

  A  30-year-old man, Joseph Efe, who was arrested for tying up a half naked lady believed to be sex worker with cello tape at Top View hotel Abuja as seen in a viral video has said he is a thief and not a ritual killer as widely speculated on the social media. There were speculations that Efe was an internet fraudster and had intended to kill the lady she tied up in the hotel and possibly use her body parts for money ritual before he was busted after the video emerged on the social media. However, Efe told journalists when he was paraded by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) FCT Commandant, Dr Olusola Odumosu in Abuja on Friday that his intention was to steal the cellphone of the lady he identified as a commercial sex worker and not to kill her for ritual.
