  Mayorkun with Cross River State Governor   Nigerian singer, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel popularly known as Mayorkun, said he met with the Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, who assured him of compensation for his lost valuables in Calabar. Mayorkun made this known in a post on his X account on Tuesday. Sharing a photo from the meeting Mayorkun wrote, “Just met with the Governor of Cross River State, H.E Prince Bassey Otu. “ He assured me that Calabar people remain very hospitable and he has also stressed that I’ll be compensated for my valuables lost.   Nigerian singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk better known as Iyanya has revealed that one of the necklaces of his colleague Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel popularly known as Mayorkun, which were reportedly stolen in Calabar, Cross River State, has been returned. It was gathered that Mayorkun vowed never to perform in Calabar again after he was reportedly robbed of his multi-million naira jewellery while in the city to perform at an event. Iyanya had pleaded with those in possession of the jewellery to return them, promising a reward for the gestures. The singer announced via his X handle on Tuesday afternoon that one of the necklaces has now been returned.   Amurie Omanze, an ancient community in Isu Local Government Area of Imo State said they are no longer at home with some of their traditions. The community set Thursday, January 4, 2024 as a date for what they described as the historical abrogation of all forms of obnoxious cultural practices.   Veteran Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike has narrated how his estranged wife Suzanne Emma’s allegations made him lose his properties and access to his kids. It was gathered that the Lagos Island Customary Court in 2017 dissolved the marriage between Emeka Ike and his wife over incessant battery. Emma had on July 13, 2015, approached the court to dissolve the 14-year-old marriage between her and the Nollywood actor. The marriage produced four children. While featuring as a guest on Channels Television programme Rubbin’ Minds, hosted by Hero Daniels, Ike said his ex-wife’s assault allegations made him lose properties worth millions of naira.   Pope Francis has formally approved allowing priests to bless same-sex couples, with a new document explaining a radical change in Vatican policy. He insisted that people seeking God’s love and mercy shouldn’t be subject to “an exhaustive moral analysis” to receive it. The document from the Vatican’s doctrine office, released Monday, elaborates on a letter Francis sent to two conservative cardinals that was published in October. In that preliminary response, Francis suggested such blessings could be offered under some circumstances if they didn’t confuse the ritual with the sacrament of marriage. The new document repeats that condition and elaborates on it, reaffirming that marriage is a lifelong sacrament between a man and a woman.   The family of the comic actor, John Okafor popularly known as  Mr. Ibu, has addressed misconceptions surrounding Mr. Ibu’s health, stating that contrary to circulating reports on social media, the actor has undergone amputation on only one leg, not both. They added that the initial amputation proved insufficient to resolve his health challenges, leading to a subsequent amputation on the same leg. The family also refuted claims attributing Mr. Ibu’s illness to diabetes disclosing that the actor has been contending with clotting of the blood in his leg, attributed to diseased blood vessels.   The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has revealed that ailing Nollywood actor, John Okafor popularly known as Mr Ibu, has undergone another leg amputation and is barely able to talk while calling for prayers and support for the veteran. The AGN National President, Dr Emeka Rollas, disclosed this in a chat with the newsmen. He said the association was monitoring Ibu’s case, as it was also concerned about the deteriorating health of another veteran actor, Amaechi Muonagor. Amaechi Mu onagor has been hospitalized at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi, Anambra State, for over two months. According to him, the actor’s state of health is pitiable, as he is currently a shadow of his old self.
