  The police in Imo State on Monday confirmed the beheading of the Sole Administrator of the Ideato North Local Government Area of the state, Chris Ohizu. Ohizu was kidnapped on Friday alongside two others after his country home at Imoko community, Arondizuogu, was burnt by hoodlums. He was killed after his abductors reportedly received N6m as ransom. Video clips of his beheading surfaced online on Sunday where his killers insisted that there would be no election in the country. A source from the council said the killers published the clips with the victim’s phone on his WhatsApp status. “The videos were horrible. He was tied and half-naked before he was beheaded. That was a painful way to die. They butchered him after collecting N6m ransom,” the source added. The spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, in a statement on Monday, said the command had raised a team of officers to clamp down on the suspects.   The presidential campaign rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State ended abruptly over a faulty sound system. The rally which was ongoing at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi, on Monday, ended abruptly when the light went off and could not be restored. The light went off shortly after the National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Adamu, mounted the podium and began delivering his speech. The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.), who was present at the rally, had to leave immediately with his entourage. Buhari had arrived Bauchi to lead the All Progressives Congress’ presidential and governorship campaign rally.   An Islamic group, Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), on Monday, urged the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), to ban ‘Kuku Do Ritual’, a song by Habeeb Okikiola popularly known as Portable. MURIC, in a statement by its Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, said the new album would encourage youths and other Nigerians to embrace ritual. The group said it finds the song disgusting, detestable and egregious, saying it is a brazen assault on Nigerian and African values. He said Portable’s latest song had reduced human life to the level of ordinary ants that can be stamped out under human feet without qualms and consequences. He cited examples of three teenagers caught attempting to kill a 13-year-old girl for a money ritual in Bayelsa State in January 2022 and four teenagers living in Abeokuta, Ogun State, who killed a girlfriend of one of them for a money ritual.   Frank Lampard has been sacked by Everton and is no longer the head coach of the club. The British football star was fired on Monday after Everton board made a final decision on the English’s coach future at the club, following a run of poor performances recorded under his tenure. Everton are currently batting for survival in the Premier League as they sit in 19th place in the relegation zone with only 15 points after 20 games played. They have won only three matches this season and lost 11 games so far.   Major oil marketers, yesterday, adjusted the price of petrol to N185 per litre, from N169 per litre, in all parts of Nigeria. Despite the expectation that the new price would encourage supply to ease out shortage, it was gathered that there were long queues at the outlets of the major marketers that had limited stocks of the product, while those without the product simply shut their gates against customers. It also showed that there were limited queues at the outlets of independent oil marketers which continued to sell in excess of N300 per litre. Further checks indicated that the private depots did not open for business yesterday in Lagos, a development that culminated in dwindling stocks. Consequently, illegal hawkers were seen in different parts of Lagos, Abuja and other cities hawking the product at  prices, ranging from N300 to N500 per litre, depending on location. Pele always denied being the father of Sandra Regina, even after a DNA test ruling from the court proved that she was indeed his daughter, refusing to acknowledge her still. But now, with his death, his will has been opened and he left his estate to all seven of his children, including her. Sandra Regina was born in 1964 after her mother, Anisio Machado, had an affair with Pele while she was his cleaner.
