One Dead As American Actor Alec Baldwin Discharges Prop Gun On Movie Set
American actor, Alec Baldwin, discharged a prop gun on a movie set on Thursday, leading to the death of the film’s director of photography and injury of its director. A spokesman for the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office, Juan Rios, revealed that the cinematographer, 42-year-old Halyna Hutchins was killed, and the director, 48-year-old Joel Souza, was injured around 1.50pm. The 63-year-old actor was on the movie set of “Rust,” which was being filmed at Santa Fe County in New Mexico when the fatal accident happened, New York Times reported. Rios stated that the shooting happened in the middle of the scene and the circumstances of the occurrence are under investigation. According to the official, the Sheriff’s Office was conducting interviews with the people present on the set to determine how the incident occured. “We’re trying to determine right now how and what type of projectile was used in the firearm,” he said.
