FBI Links Hushpuppi To North Korean Bank Robbers And Money Launderers

  The Federal Bureau of Investigation FBI has linked Instagram celebrity, Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, a.k.a Hushpuppi, to North Korean hackers said to be the biggest bank robbers in the world.   The Justice Department in a detailed statement released on Friday, February 19, alleged that Hushpuppi took part in a “North Korean-perpetrated cyber-enabled heist from a Maltese bank in February 2019.” According to the statement, his role was as a collaborator with a North Korean money launderer, Ghaleb Alaumary, 37, based in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.   “Alaumary agreed to plead guilty to the charge, which was filed in the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles on Nov. 17, 2020. “Alaumary was a prolific money launderer for hackers engaged in ATM cash-out schemes, cyber-enabled bank heists, business email compromise (BEC) schemes, and other online fraud schemes. IMF Backs CBN Ban On Cryptocurrencies

  The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has confirmed that some crypto currencies were being used for money laundering and drug trafficking. This confirmation from the IMF thus corroborates what the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been saying about cryptocurrency transactions in the country. The IMF Resident Representative for Nigeria, Mr. Ari Aisen, made this known yesterday during a virtual  briefing on the recently published 2020 Article IV IMF Staff Report for Nigeria. According to Aisen, many central banks around the world, have taken similar policy decisions as the CBN. Secondary School Student Caught In School With Local Gun She Allegedly Planned To Use In Shooting A Teacher Who Told Her To Cut Her Coloured Hair

  A secondary school student was caught in school with a local gun she allegedly planned to use in shooting her teacher.   The girl, a student of Government Secondary School in Ikot Ewa, Cross River State, was asked by a teacher to cut her coloured hair and she was allegedly angered by this.   Subsequently,  she arrived at school with a gun.       Soldiers were invited after the student was caught with the gun, as seen in photos shared online.   

FRAUD: US Court Finally Sentences Obinwanne "Invictus Obi" Okeke To 10 Years In Prison

  Convicted international fraudster, Obinwanne Okeke, popularly known as Invictus Obi, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for fraud.   The Nigerian national was sentenced by Chief District Judge, Rebecca Smith, after he was convicted for involvement in a computer-based intrusion fraud scheme that caused approximately $11m in known losses to his victims, according to the judge.   "Through subterfuge and impersonation, Obinwanne Okeke engaged in a multi-year global business email and computer hacking scheme that caused a staggering $11 million in losses to his victims," said Raj Parekh, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia.   "Today’s sentence further demonstrates EDVA’s and FBI’s worldwide reach in vigorously pursuing justice on behalf of American victims and others and holding international cybercriminals accountable, no matter where they commit their crimes." MYSTERIOUS: Nigerian Pastor Who Refused To Wed A Couple Because They Came Late Dies

  The pastor who canceled a wedding because the couple were few minutes late to church has died on the same date his wife died.   Pastor Essa Ogorry of Fulfilling Word Foundation Church, Trans Amadi, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, died on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.     His wife, Tonyemieba Essa-Ogorry, also died on the same date a year ago, Feb 16, 2020.   The pastor made headlines recently after he refused to wed a couple for about an hour because they were few minutes late to church on Feb 6, 2021 (read  here ). NFL's Vincent Jackson Found Dead In Hotel Room

  Vincent Jackson, 38, was found dead in his hotel room and cops are now investigating his death.   The 3-time Pro Bowl wide receiver was found dead on Monday, Feb 15, by a housekeeper in a hotel room at the Homewood Suites hotel in Brandon, Florida, located in the Tampa area, officials confirm.   Cops have released pics from the scene.     The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office says it's investigating as there is no apparent cause of death. No signs of trauma.   Jackson, a former San Diego Chargers and Tampa Bay Bucs star, had been staying at the hotel since January 11, though it's unclear why he was living there considering he made a fortune during his 12 years as an NFL player.   Officials say Jackson's family filed a missing persons report regarding the NFL star on February 11.
