  Two  influencers drowned when their boat capsized after a large wave struck following a yacht party in Brazil, as they had refused to wear life jackets. Victims Aline Tamara Moreira de Amorim, 37, and Beatriz Tavares da Silva Faria, 27, were found dead after their overcrowded boat sank off a stretch of coast known as the Devil's Throat.  Now nearly a month after the drownings, police say the women died when their overloaded boat was swamped as it returned to the Brazilian coast as they left the party.  Sao Vincente police commissioner Marcos Alexandre Alfino says the influencers had refused to wear life jackets, local media reported on 25th October.  He said: “Some didn’t want to put them on because they were taking selfies.   The  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has said that it is not responsible for the delay in the burial of the late Senator who represented Anambra South district, Chief Ifeanyi Uba, in his home town, Nnewi North council of Anambra State. It stated that no one should link the delay to the IPOB leader, stressing that IPOB and Kanu should be left out of the delay. Power-Drunk Abia House Of Reps Member Alex Ikwechegh Granted N500,000 Bail In Assault Case Against Bolt Driver

  Alex Mascot Ikwechegh, a member of the House of Representatives from Abia State, was granted bail of N500,000 by the Chief Magistrate Court in Kuje, Abuja, after he was caught on camera assaulting a Bolt driver Stephen Abuwatseya. During the court session on Wednesday, Ikwechegh faced three counts bordering on abuse of office, assault, and threat to life. The case was filed by the office of the Inspector-General of Police while the presiding judge is His Worship Abubakar Umar Sai’id. Ikwechegh appeared in court and pleaded not guilty to the charges.  His counsel made an oral application for bail, which was granted by His Worship Abubakar Umar Sai’id. His bail was set at N500,000, with two sureties in like sum. The sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and provide utility bills as proof of residence. Police Arrest 17-Year-Old Lady For Faking Her Kidnap And Death In Imo State

  A  17-year-old female student of the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, Jesse Chidiebere, has been arrested by the Orji Police Divisional Headquarters, for faking her own kidnap and death. This hoax caused significant distress to her family and the university community. On October 26, 2024, at approximately 10pm, police received a distress call from concerned citizens reporting Chidiebere missing. A message sent from her WhatsApp account claimed she had been abducted and killed, urging her family to go to the Orji Police Station for confirmation. In response, police operatives launched a search and discovered the following morning, October 27, 2024, that Chidiebere was alive and had fabricated the story as a prank on social media. The Redeemed Christian Church Of God Suspends Two Pastors Over Homosexual Practices

  The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has suspended one of its pastors, Pastor Ayorinde AdeBello, and Deacon Oke Mayowa, from office over allegations of homosexuality against young people in the church. The  church has also directed the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration to conduct a thorough investigation into the allegation within two weeks. In an internal memo dated 28th of October, 2024 with Ref: RCCG/NO/s.04/13/vol.1 and titled: “Investigation and Suspension Regarding Allegations of Homosexuality,” addressed to Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration, the church stated that its doctrine does not allow or tolerate any act of homosexuality. A  33-year-old woman has been arrested over the alleged theft of jewellery valued at over $60,000 from her employer, after working as a maid for less than 24 hours in Lagos state. On Sunday, October 27, Ms Alice Udey, who allegedly goes by several other fake names, was taken into custody at the Ikoyi Police Station, Lagos, in connection with the theft that occurred over a year ago, police officials said.   Before her arrest, the police carried out an extensive 16-month search that has exposed what authorities suspect is an organised crime ring targeting rich Nigerian households. According to police, Udey got employment as a domestic worker after the employer recruited her from an agency. However, she allegedly disappeared the next day along with valuable jewelry belonging to her employer. The suspect is expected to face charges related to theft while investigation continues.

Cryptocurrency exchange company, Binance Holdings Limited, has announced that its Head of Financial Crime Compliance,  Tigran Gambaryan has left Nigeria on Thursday, October 24, after he was detained for eight months in Kuje Prison. Bobrisky Falls Ill In Police Custody, Rushed To Hospital

  Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly fallen ill while in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos. After spending the night in a police cell, Bobrisky was rushed to Falomo Police Hospital for medical attention. Nigerian Government Drops Money Laundering Charges Against Binance Executive Gambaryan

  The  money laundering charges filed against an executive of Binance Holdings Limited, Tigran Gambaryan, have been withdrawn by the federal government. Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC had in April this year, arraigned Binance, a cryptocurrency firm, and Gambaryan over alleged money laundering. Mr Gambaryan, a United States citizen, has been in detention since February following the clampdown on the cryptocurrency firm over alleged manipulation of naira. A lawyer representing the EFCC announced the withdrawal of the charges at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday. Announcing the development, the lawyer said Mr Gambaryan was merely an employee of Binance, whose activities he was being prosecuted for.
