Chelsea Ready To Pay €130 Million For Victor Osimhen

Journalist Rudy Galetti has revealed that the Blues are prepared to pay his €130 million release clause and they are expected to approach the Italian club soon.

The Blues are hoping to negotiate a favourable payment structure with Napoli and it remains to be seen whether the two parties can come to an agreement.

The 25-year-old Nigerian international has been identified as a priority target and Chelsea would do well to secure his services. Osimhen has established himself as a world-class striker and he could transform Chelsea in the final third. He could prove to be a major upgrade on someone like Nicolas Jackson and solve Chelsea’s goal-scoring problems.

The striker scored 31 goals across all competitions last season and he helped Napoli win the league title. Chelsea need someone like him if they want to get back into the Champions League and compete for major trophies once again.

They have looked toothless in the attack for a while and Mauricio Pochettino must address the lack of goals in the side. Chelsea have been overly dependent on Cole Palmer for goals this season.

Meanwhile, Osimhen will look to join a big club capable of winning major trophies and it remains to be seen whether he is keen on a move to Chelsea. The Blues are unlikely to compete in the Champions League next season and they might not be an attractive destination for the striker.
