"A Soldier’s Story 2 - Return From The Dead" Becomes First Nigerian Film To Be Distributed By Lionsgate

 Nigerian blockbuster, “A Soldier’s Story 2 - Return from the Dead” has become the first Nollywood film to be distributed by a major American studio.

“ A Soldier’s Story 2- Return from the Dead” is a sequel to the award-winning film, “A Soldier’s Story”. Starring
Academy Awards Nominated Hollywood Actor- Eric Roberts, the film which was shot in Nigeria also stares Nigerian Actors Daniel K Daniel, Somekele Idalamah, Linda Ejiofor, Tope Tedela and a host of other household names. It was produced by Martin Gbados and Directed by award-winning director, Frankie Ogar.

Lionsgate through their affiliate, Strawberry Fields Entertainment, believes that Nollywood is a major playing industry in the film space and this deal only goes to confirm it.

The CEO of Strawberry Fields Entertainment, Jamie Webber, says that the company will also fund the franchise next film with budgets in the $5 million range.

According to the distribution agent, Strawberry fields is poised to make in-roads to Africa. “We are happy to begin this journey with such a powerful movie,” he said.

“A Soldier’s Story II: Return From The Dead” is a tale of two nations, Nigeria and Watz Republic, a fictional country on the west coast of Africa, and the thin line between love, hope and survival in the face of corruption.

With a very intentional plot, “A soldier’s story II: Return from the Dead” will take the audience on an adrenaline pumped emotional rollercoaster as it highlights the issues most of the world is slowly becoming familiar with, terrorism, emigration, rape, civil rights, international trade and relations.

Bobrisky Falls Ill In Police Custody, Rushed To Hospital

  Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly fallen ill while in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos. After spending the night in a police cell, Bobrisky was rushed to Falomo Police Hospital for medical attention. A source confirmed the development, stating that he was transferred from the FCID to the hospital for treatment. The source said,  “Bobrisky complained of ‘breast’ pain and was rushed to the Police Hospital in the Falomo area of Lagos around 2:00 p.m. in an ambulance with the plate number LND 339L. He wore a black gown, covered his face with a shawl, and lay down in the ambulance.” Bobrisky was taken into custody on Monday night by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) following his arrest at the Seme border in Lagos during an alleged attempt to leave the country.   The  Magistrates' Court in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, denied bail to prominent broadcast journalist Chinonso Uba, popularly known as Nonso Nkwa, and ordered him to be remanded at the Owerri Correctional Centre on Wednesday. Uba was arraigned before the Chief Magistrate, His Worship Adikaibe, on five counts preferred against him by N.S. Onwochie, Legal Prosecution Officer, Owerri, Imo State on behalf of the state police commissioner. The five counts include conspiracy, treason and arson.   The government of Equatorial Guinea has dismissed Baltasar Ebang Engonga as Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) after a series of over 400 sex tapes involving him and multiple women surfaced online.   A  shooting spree in Awka, Anambra State capital on Thursday morning, has claimed several lives. One of the sources, a student, said the shooting happened in Ifite Awka, at approximately 9:15 a.m., leaving several people dead. Lifeless Body Of Young Woman Found Dumped By Roadside In Delta After Visit To Man She Met On A Dating Site

  A  young Nigerian woman who has been identified as Precious Yusuf has been found dead in Asaba, in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State. The body of the deceased was found by the roadside opposite Falcon Club, Asaba. Her waist region was covered with a black and white cloth, suggestive of alleged mutilation of her private part for ritual purposes. She had reportedly gone to visit a guy she met on a dating site, iHappy Dating, on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at Koka Junction, Asaba, the state capital and never returned.
