Police Confirm 2 FUTO Students Allegedly Killed By Generator Fume

The Police in Imo State have confirmed the death of two students of the Federal University of University, Owerri (FUTO), who allegedly died from generator fume. The third person, who was with the victims, the command said, is critically hospitalised at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Owerri. The incident happened at a lodge outside the university’s campus.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Orlando Ikeokwu, in a statement, yesterday, confirmed the incident. “Upon a report received at the Divisional Police Headquarters Nekede/Ihiagwa, operatives of  the Division moved to Jabulani Hostel, Eziobodo, and met the three occupants of one of the rooms, identified as Nkama Fred Eberechukwu “M” 22 years, Udeagbala Kenechukwu “M” 21 and Anele Stephen “M” 21, all lying helplessly in the room.

“The operatives broke into the room and immediately evacuated them to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Owerri, where two of the victims were confirmed dead by doctors on duty, but Nkama Fred Eberechukwu was successful revived, and presently receiving treatment.”

Nigerian singer, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, has confirmed his upcoming wedding to his partner, Chioma Rowland. According to reports on Tuesday Chioma and Davido’s traditional wedding is reportedly scheduled to take place in Lagos on June 25, 2024. EFCC Arrests 14 Suspected Vote-Buyers, Intercepts N11 Million Cash In Imo And Bayelsa States

Immigration Officer Bags 7-Year Jail Term Over Passport Fraud

  The  Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), has secured the conviction of Quadri Ismail Adeyinka, a staff of the Nigeria Immigration Service for committing travel passport fraud. ICPC  arraigned the convict before Justice Jude Onwuegbuzie of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Apo, Abuja, on a four-count charge bordering on gratification, conferment of corrupt advantage and cheating contrary to extant provisions of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act 2000 and the Penal Code Act. Counsel to ICPC, Dr Osuobeni Ekoi Akponimisingha, in the course of the trial, led evidence before the court on how Adeyinka defrauded Ovie Justice Ojeffia under the pretence of regularising the latter’s international passport. Adeyinka,  after receiving the sum of N100,000 from Ojeffia to regularise the said passport, reneged on their agreement. Veteran Nollywood Actress, Stella Ikwuegbu Is Dead

Nollywood has been plunged into mourning as veteran actress Stella Ikwuegbu passed away on Sunday.  A cloud of sorrow has therefore enveloped the Nigerian film industry as fellow actors, filmmakers, and fans grapple with the devastating news and reflect on Ikwuegbu’s immense contributions to Nollywood over the years. Movie producer Stanley Nwoko, also known as Stanley Ontop, announced on his Instagram page that the veteran actress has passed away.  According to his post, she died on Sunday, June 16, 2024.  He said, “Popular Nollywood actress/veteran Mrs stella ikwuegbu is dead. “The veteran Actress left this world today after battling with Leg cancer.
