Nigerian actor, Zubby Michael has swung a heavy jab at his fellow actor, Yul Edochie, after the latter proposed a suggestion to the Federal Government as regards the Covid-19 crisis in the country. Shortly after the President declared a total lockdown to be observed starting from Monday, 11:00pm in the three states with the top cases, actor, Yul Edochie took to his page to suggest that the President provides economic relief package for Nigerians. His suggestion was seconded by some of his colleagues but one who didn’t stand with him is actor, Zubby Michael who says he should practice what he preaches “because charity begins at home”. The actor who seems to somewhat know Yul Edochie’s character revealed that he’s quite a wicked and stingy being and as such shouldn’t be the one to give such suggestions since it’s not in his character. A pre-colonial law which ciriminalizes sex between men was upheld by a Singaporean high court on Monday March 30. The law which does not apply to lesbians was challenged by activists emboldened after India’s decision to scrap similar legislation in 2018. Two lawyers who represented three men: Johnson Ong Ming, a disc jockey, Roy Tan Seng Kee, a retired general practitioner and Bryan Choong Chee Hoong, the former executive director of LGBT+ non-profit organization Oogachaga, argued that Section 377A, a rarely implemented law under which a man found to have committed an act of "gross indecency" with another man could be imprisoned for up to two years, is unconstitutional.  However Judge See Kee Oon who presided over the case, dismissed the three applications. The Enugu Government has announced the closure of its borders and markets, just after two cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the state. In a statement released by the Secretary to the State Government Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, it was gathered that the order on closure of all land borders and inter-state transportation will be effected from 6pm on Tuesday, March 31.  Markets exempted from the closure include “those dealing on food items, water, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment and other basic items of daily domestic need who must comply with the standard hygiene protocol as stipulated by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), including frequent handwashing with soap, use of sanitizer and social distancing.” The statement added;  “All local government chairmen are hereby directed to ensure strict compliance with the closure of the markets within their respective local government councils, without prejudice to the exceptions above. “At this difficult

It is no longer news that one third of the world’s population has been placed on a lock down and self isolation. Many countries have been looking after their citizens to disburse the effects of the entire coronavirus epidemic with big countries launching stimulus packages to help their citizerns financially. Here are some biggest stimulus packages that has been announced around the world :- Singapore  : Singapore has voted to pay its citizens $150 daily to say at home during the period of the self-isolation, starting from 20th of March 2020. Canada  : Canada has approved a stimulus package of $2TRN which will see adults receive an amount of $300 every 2 weeks and children get $150 every 2 weeks for at least 14 weeks of the self isolation period and all student loan repayment to be suspended. USA  : The United states has decided to approve at $7TRN stimulus package as well with speculations of paying its citizens around $1000 every month during the self-isolation period.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has warned against the use of Chloroquine for the purpose of treating COVID-19.  NCDC said the use of chloroquine and its derivatives for the management of the ravaging coronavirus pandemic has not been approved.  This was part of a series of tweets on its official Twitter handle on Wednesday where it also warned Nigerians against self-medication. The tweet says, “Please remember that the use of chloroquine and its derivatives for the management of coronavirus disease has not been validated and approved  “Self-medication can cause harm and lead to death. Do not misuse drugs”.  Recall that the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) had last weekend explained its position on Chloroquine use. NAFDAC said it only gave an approval for pharmaceutical companies t o produce more Chloroquine as a clinical trial for the cure of coronavirus and not for patients use.

Veteran Afro-jazz star, Manu Dibango has died after contracting the deadly coronavirus. The death of 86-year-old Cameroonian was confirmed on Tuesday morning by his music publisher, Thierry Durepaire. "He died early this morning in a hospital in the Paris region," Thierry Durepaire said. Dibango's family also confirmed his death in a Facebook post which reads: "It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of Manu Dibango, our Papy Groove, who passed away on 24 March 2020, at 86 years old, because of Covid-19." The family also revealed that his funeral will take place in “strict privacy”, while a public memorial service would be held at a later date. "His funeral service will be held in strict privacy, and a tribute to his memory will be organized when possible," the message said. 6 Chinese Nationals have been arrested by the Ugandan police for fleeing from designated quarantine centres for coronavirus in the country.  Police Chief Political Commissar, Asan Kasingye tweeted about the arrest of Chinese nationals who had reportedly escaped from designated quarantine centres. He revealed they were arrested in Zombo District enroute to Democratic Republic of Congo. He wrote;  “Eight Chinese who had escaped from quarantine have been arrested in Zombo, enroute to DR Congo. They will be charged in our Courts of law." Minister of State for Primary Health Care, Dr Joyce Moriku Kaducu who confirmed the arrest on Sunday March 22, said only 6 Chinese nationals were arrested in Zombo for excusing themselves from quarantine before 14 days. A 42 year old woman, Oluchi has been arrested by the Abia State Police Command for allegedly serving her customers with lizard, dead rats and vultures in replace of a meat. Mrs Oluchi who has been in the food business for 6 years now confesses she has been using dead lizards to prepare her rice stew and draw soup while she uses rats and vultures for her vegetable soup. Nemesis caught up with her when one Simon saw the leg of a dead rat in his food.  He immediately contacted the operatives of the Abia State Police Command who came look into the issue and was finally discovered to be true.  She pleaded for mercy and promised never to use such things to prepare her food anymore.

News circulating online indicates that Portuguese international footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has acquired a private island just to be able to isolate his family from the deadly Coronavirus epidemic. The Juventus star and his family will be staying at the island for some time until the Coronavirus disappears.  It is reported that Ronaldo bought the island in the Pacific in adherence to the directive by Juventus management that players should go on self-quarantine.  Ronaldo’s wife Georgina, published a photo on her Instagram page which shows the place where she will be lodging with husband and children.
