Ways To Attract God's Blessings
Many times, we want to receive God's blessings in our lives, but sometimes we do not play our part on this process. Sometimes, it might be wise not to wait for your bless to come and meet you. You should be able to play a role, not helping God, but try to get His attention.
Attraction is to draw attention, pull in, lure or entice. When you want to attract someone's attention you have to do something to make him notice you. We can attract God's blessings by doing so many things, but here are the 4 ways we can equally get God to notice us;
1). OBEDIENCE: Being obedience to God attracts blessings, liberation and deliverance. Obeying God in small matters is an essential steps in receiving from Him. Obedience to God's commands is the true sign of our love for God, and the only way you can know if you are obeying God is by knowing His word. Have you ever noticed that most fathers show so much love to the obedient kids? God is always happy with those who obey Him and when God is happy with you, it will definitely attract a lot of blessings to you.
Exodus 19:5 " Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine"
Luke 11: 28 " He replied, "Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it"
Now, let's examine our lives! Am I obeying God's words? Why am I not getting God's blessings? What are those things I ought not to do as a Christian, yet I see myself doing it? It's never too late!!!
2. GIVING: God expects even the most humble amongst us to be open handed with what He has blessed us with. When sought for a way to sustain Elijah during the famine, He declared, He sent him to the widow of Zarephath who had almost nothing. By opening her doors, to share her last meal with the prophet, she received a miracle that saved her family. Giving is a way if life! You can not give and not get anything in return. The bible expects us to give so that we can receive back from God.
Proverbs 11:25 "A generous person will prosper: whoever refreshes other will be refreshed"
Luke 6: 38 "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you"
Giving does not necessarily mean "money". You can give out your talent to your local church, within your neighbourhood or your work place. There is always something to give. Remember, the spiritual gifts we talked about? What are those gift(s) God deposited in you? Do you have leftover meals? Why not give them to those who can not afford a single meal.
3. TRUST: Trusting in human beings attracts curses while trusting in God attracts blessing. If trusting in God attracts blessings, why not trust in God and be blessed? When you trust God with all your heart, you will learn to depend on Him in good times and bad. As a result, He will make your paths.
Jeremaiah 17:5 "This is what the Lord says: "cursed is the one who trust in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose hearts turns away from the Lord"
Psalm 84: 12 "Lord almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you"
What are those blessings that you seek from the Lord? Do you trust Him to grant those requests or do you trust in man? Why not trust the Lord and He will definitely not disappoint you.
4. GRATITUDE: Gratitude is one of the most powerful weapon we have as christians. An attitude of gratitude attracts God's blessing and multiples it. Gratitude counts on the faithfulness of God.
2 Corinthians 9:11 **"You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God"
Psalm 103:15 "Bless the Lord, o my soul, all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, o my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like eagles"
Oftentimes, we forget to say "Thank you Lord for my talents", Thank you for my hair", "Thank you for my mom/dad/siblings" we forget to thank Him for those little things we count as nothing. Have you thanked the Lord today? It's never too late to thank Him.
