Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has responded to socialite, Sophia Egbueje’s allegations that he reneged on his promise after allegedly sleeping with her. In a viral leaked audio recording between her and her friend, Sophia accused Burna Boy of having a one-night stand with her and failing to fulfill his promise of buying her a Lamborghini. The leaked audio elicited mixed reactions in the Nigerian social media space. R eacting in a freestyle video shared via his Instagram story Friday afternoon, Burna Boy slammed Sophia for losing her cool over his failure to buy her a Lamborghini. “No do no do, no do no do. IDENTITY FRAUD: South African Government Bars Chidimma Adetshina’s Mother From Seeking Permanent Residency, Grant Strict Bail And Placed On House Arrest

  The  South African government has set strict bail conditions for Anabela Rungo, mother of reigning Miss Universe Africa and Oceania, Chidimma Adetshina, while prohibiting her from applying for permanent residency in the country. As part of the conditions, the state granted her R10,000 bail and ordered that she be placed on house arrest. Rungo, a Mozambican national, was arrested the penultimate week on the allegations of identity fraud and violation of SA’s immigration laws. Man Arrested Over The Death Of 84-Year-Old Nigerian Woman After Alleged Assault In Ireland

Gardaí has arrested a Nigerian man in Cork, Ireland in connection with the death of an 84-year-old Nigerian woman who died in hospital two days after a reported assault at her home. The woman was brought to Cork University Hospital by ambulance on Tuesday after she complained of feeling unwell following an incident at her home in Carrigaline on Sunday morning, February 23, 2025. It was gathered that doctors at the hospital found that the woman had suffered a serious brain injury, and she died in the hospital shortly before 4 PM on Tuesday. The woman’s death follows an incident on Sunday evening when her daughter was assaulted in the kitchen of their home at Garrydhu Drive in Carrigaline. The middle-aged woman went to a neighbour’s house to get help to deal with the person who had assaulted her and she returned to discover her elderly mother in a disoriented state in the house. The elder brother and former manager of the defunct P-Square group, Jude Chigozie Okoye has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos. He was arraigned on Wednesday, February 26, alongside his company, Northside Music Ltd, on a seven-count charge of allegedly laundering N1.38 billion, $1million and £34,537.59. Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye popularly known as Rudeboy has reacted to the arraignment and detention of his elder brother, Jude Okoye, by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Jude was arraigned before Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos on a seven-count charge of allegedly laundering N1.38 billion, $1million and £34,537.59. Reacting to the news, Paul said that this too shall pass and asked his brother to stay strong.  He went on to state that this was what someone wanted all along. An Australian couple was left deeply shaken after being seated next to a deceased woman’s body for hours during a Qatar Airways flight from Australia. Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin narrated the sad experience in an interview on the Australian news program “A Current Affair." They said the situation occurred while they were on a Qatar Airways flight last week. According to the couple, hours into the flight a woman collapsed and died after she came out of the bathroom. “Unfortunately, the lady couldn’t be saved, which was pretty heartbreaking to watch,”  the news program quoted Ring.  “They tried to wheel her up towards business class, but she was quite a large lady and they couldn’t get her through the aisle.” The Colins said that was when the flight crew decided to put the woman’s body in their row for the remaining four hours of the flight. Donald Trump Announces 'Gold Card' Visa For Wealthy Immigrants, Reveals Price

  United States President, Donald Trump has introduced “gold card” visa.   Speaking on Tuesday, he said foreign investors can buy the gold card to become American citizens.   The U.S. currently offers a similar opportunity through the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, which was established in 1990 and is administered by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). According to USCIS's website, the visa is open to investors who "make the necessary investment in a commercial enterprise in the United States," as well as “plan to create or preserve 10 permanent full-time jobs for qualified U.S. workers.”   But Trump's recent suggestion would replace the EB-5 program, and instead, the Republican president plans to propose a “gold card” visa to the tune of $5 million.   “We are going to be selling a gold card,”  Trump explained to reporters. “We are going to be putting a price on that card of about $5 million.”   “It's going to give you green card p...

Ukraine Agrees Deal To Jointly Develop Its Mineral Resources With Trump Administration

  Ukraine has agreed to a minerals deal with the United States.   The deal will secure a long-term U.S. security partnership.   According to Ukrainian officials, Kyiv is prepared to sign the deal for joint development of its mineral resources, including oil and gas, after the U.S. withdrew its demand for a claim to $500 billion in potential revenue from the resource exploitation.   “The minerals agreement is only part of the picture. US Government Excludes UK, Nigeria And Others From Visa-Free Entry For 2025

  The United States has excluded Nigeria and other African countries from a list of eligible countries for its 2025 Visa Waiver Program (VWP).   It also removed United Kingdom from the program but remains eligible under specific conditions.   Other countries removed from the list include: Nigeria, Ghana, or South Africa.   The VWP list remains mostly unchanged, though Romania has been added in a significant update.   According to the U.S. Bureau of Consular Affairs, the Visa Waiver Program allows most citizens of eligible countries to travel to the U.S. for tourism or business for up to 90 days without requiring a visa.   The agency stated,  “Travelers must have a valid Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) approval prior to travel and meet all requirements explained below. “If you prefer to have a visa in your passport, you may still apply for a visitor visa.” The 2025 Visa Waiver Program has also introduced policy updates on permit eligib...

Marlian Record label boss and singer, Abdulazeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, was discharged and acquitted on Tuesday, February 25, by the Magistrate Court sitting in Sabo, Yaba, Lagos State, in relation to the death of his former signee, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad. Diddy’s Top Lawyer Steps Down From The Case Ahead Of Trial

  Embattled American hip-hop mogul, Sean Combs popularly known as Diddy has lost his top lawyer ahead of his sex trafficking trial.   Anthony Ricco has now stepped down from the case.   Recall that Diddy who is currently facing over 30 civil lawsuits, is awaiting a federal criminal trial on sex trafficking and racketeering scheduled for May 5, 2025.   Anthony, who announced his withdrawal in the motion filed before the New York Federal Court on Thursday, declined to give reasons as to why he was leaving the rapper’s legal team.   According to the legal document, he notified the judge of his decision to withdraw from Diddy’s legal team, stating that  “there are sufficient reasons protected by lawyer/client privilege”.   Ricco in the relief motion which has to be approved by the judge, said,  “Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs.”   Anthony Ricco is known for his role in the bin Laden’s case.

“We Want Biafra Nation, Not Additional States” - IPOB

  The  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has stated that it is not interested in the establishment of new states in the Southeast. In a statement on Monday, IPOb declared that it wants an independent nation of Biafra and not additional states in the Southeast.   This followed moves to create an additional 31 new states in Nigeria, including five states from the Southeast.   The proposed states are Etiti State, Adada State, Urashi State, Orlu State, and Aba State.   However, IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful, said the current states are bankrupt and not functioning properly.   In a statement he signed, Powerful said:   “Following the rumours that the Nigerian Government and the National Assembly proposed to create an additional 31 new states in Nigeria, we, the global family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) worldwide, wish to categorically state that Biafrans do not want the creation of new states. Precious Nosakairehe, a 100-level female student of Delta State University, Agbor, has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command for killing Awele Agatha Eluemunor, a final-year nursing student of Delta State College of Nursing, Agbor. It was gathered that  Nosakairehe, who was learning how to drive, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into a group of pedestrians, resulting in the death of 23-year-old Awele. A  13-year-old boy, Nnamdi Glenn Ohaeri Jr., has reportedly died after attempting a dangerous social media challenge similar to past trends that have claimed multiple young lives. The teenager was found unresponsive in his bedroom in Murrieta on the morning of February 3, just a day after watching the Grammy Awards with his family. His mother immediately performed CPR while his father, Nnamdi Ohaeri Sr., sought help from a neighbor and called emergency services. Despite their efforts, the boy was later pronounced dead. While initial signs pointed to a possible suicide, his parents were unconvinced and began their own investigation.
