Zlatan Ibrahimovic Retires From Football At 41

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has decided to end his football career at 41.

The Swede was given an emotional farewell by AC Milan on Sunday following an injury-plagued season.

The Italian club had already revealed they would not renew his contract which ends this June.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced on Sunday that “the time has come to say goodbye to football”.

A clearly emotional Ibrahimovic was serenaded by the Milan fans who held up a large Tifo spelling out ‘Goodbye’.

He was also given a guard of honour by his team-mates as he left the pitch.

The striker began his professional career at Malmo FF in 1999 and left for Ajax Amsterdam in 2001, before playing for top European teams like Manchester United, Inter Milan and Milan.
