Police Parade Prime Suspect, His Parents And Four Others Over The Murder Of 21-Year-Old Kwara College Graduating Student

  The Kwara State Police Command has paraded six suspects allegedly involved in the killing of Ogungbenro Blessing, a female student of the College of Health and Technology in Offa. Among  those arrested are Mr. and Mrs. Adebayo Adeniyi, the parents of the primary suspect, Adebayo Joshua Happiness. It was gathered that the couple was apprehended after attempting to tamper with evidence by retrieving their son’s belongings from his school. Parading the suspects on Friday, Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, disclosed that Adebayo Joshua Happiness had invited Awesu Mojisola to attend a purported sign-out party at Whitefield Hotel, Ilorin, Kwara State, promising her N15,000. The CP, while parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, said that on August 13, 2024, at about 1500 hours, the Offa Police Station received a report from Ogungbenro Blessing, a female resident of the Gbomi Area in Offa, Kwara State.   Popular  comedian and content creator, Mark Angel, has addressed the accusations made by his former co-creator, Denilson Igwe. In his recent interview, Mark Angel stated that he chose to remain silent on the matter, because he doesn't consider the issues raised by Denilson Igwe to be important. He said, “I  don’t want to talk about anything that has to do with Denilson. It is not important.” Recall  that Igwe had recently courted attention when he aired his grievances regarding the treatment he received during his time working with Angel. He lamented their strained relationship and even requested a share of the revenue generated by Angel during their time working together. Talking about the current state of their relationship, Denilson had said, “He (Mark Angel) said I was no longer his brother, but a houseboy, and that was what I would remain. Besides, different people had been contacting me, asking me to speak out, but I refused because I considered him to be a brother.”

  Nigerian music legend, Onyeka Onwenu, has been laid to rest in Lagos State. The  funeral service of the late musician, who was also known as the “Elegant Stallion”, was held at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju area of Lagos on Friday. The funeral service was followed by a private burial at a vault in Ikoyi. Onwenu had slumped after an impressive performance at Stella Okoli’s birthday party in Lagos on July 30. The  legendary singer was then rushed to the Reddington Hospital in Lagos, where she passed on. Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi and other dignitaries attended the funeral service. Telegram Founder Pavel Durov Charged, Banned From Leaving France

France  on Wednesday charged Pavel Durov, the founder and chief of Telegram, with a litany of violations related to the messaging app and banned him from leaving the country while allowing the billionaire to walk free after four days under arrest. Durov, 39, was charged on several counts of failing to curb extremist and illegal content on the popular messaging app following a hearing with investigating magistrates in Paris. Russian-born Durov was arrested at Le Bourget airport outside Paris late Saturday and questioned in subsequent days under arrest by investigators. He was granted conditional release against a bail of five million euros and on the condition he must report to a police station twice a week as well as remaining in France, Paris prosecutor Laure Beccuau said in a statement. House Of Reps Ask Canadian Government To Prosecute Nigerian Threatening To Poison Yoruba And Benin People

The Hou se of Representatives has written to the Canadian government, urging it to investigate and prosecute Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a Nigerian residing in Canada, for making threatening comments against fellow Nigerians of Yoruba and Benin descents. In a video clip that started trending on X.com on Tuesday, a woman’s voice was heard making anti-Yoruba comments during a virtual meeting on TikTok. The woman, who claimed to be a resident of Ontario, Canada, vowed to take poisonous substances to her workplace and harm any Yoruba or Benin person she came across. She claimed her comments were in response to the “hate” against the Igbo. In a  letter signed by Biodun Omoleye and Tochukwu Chinedu Okere, the federal lawmakers expressed concern over Sunnberger’s inflammatory statements, which they say constitute a direct threat to the lives and safety of millions of Nigerians. Award-winning cinematographer and music producer, ThankGod Omori popularly known as TG Omori, has revealed that he had a failed kidney transplant after his brother donated to him to improve his kidney-related ailment. Omori revealed this on Wednesday, shortly after disclosing that he was going through hell and that Nigerians should pray for him. He wrote, “One year after my kidney crashed, I just had a failed transplant at St Nicolas Hospital Lagos. Pray for me.” The cinematographer also noted that he had gone into the theatre three times already and that he was not just destined to die today.   The  Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has assured investors of the safety of Alaigbo, noting that South-east region is big and safe to accommodate their investments. Disclosing  this in a statement on Tuesday, Emma Powerful, the groups spokesman, advised Igbo businessmen and women to bring back their investments before they regret it. Of  recent, Igbos in Lagos and other states complain of governments policies and host communities’ attitudes that affect their respective businesses. These Igbos have been assured by the various governments of the safety of their businesses in their states.   Nollywood  actress and producer Adanma Luke has issued a public apology following a tragic boat accident that claimed the lives of actor John Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, and four others. #EndBadGovernance Protests: Nigerian Court Freezes Bank Accounts Of 32 Individuals, Companies

  A Federal High Court in Abuja has issued an order freezing the bank accounts of 32 individuals and companies allegedly linked to the #EndBadGovernance protests that took place across Nigeria. The  court's ruling, delivered by Justice Emeka Nwite, was in response to an ex-parte motion filed by the Inspector-General of Police's counsel, Ibrahim Mohammed. The order also directs banks to arrest and detain account holders or anyone found transacting business on the affected accounts, pending investigation and prosecution. Mr Nwite, who granted the motion dated and filed on August 20, directed the banks to contact the Nigeria Police Force through the telephone numbers: 08035179870 and 07032449912 as soon as arrest is made. “That the banks are hereby directed by this honourable court to issue details of the account package(s) and to place a Post-No-Debit (PND) on the accounts, disable the ATM while allowing inflow into the said accounts as from the date of this court order,” the jud
