  A 21-year-old lady identified as Sukura Owodunni has allegedly been set ablaze by a pastor, Taiwo Odebiyi, when he was trying to perform deliverance on her at his Cherubim and Seraphim Maberu Parish located in Offin in the Sagamu area of Ogun State. It was gathered that the incident happened on August 17, 2023, when the victim visited the church for a special prayer at the pastor’s invitation. It was also gathered that  the pastor directed the victim to buy Amazing Grace perfume, local eggs and a candle for the special prayer. While praying for her, the pastor was said to have poured the perfume on the lady’s body and lit the candle. Immediately after the pastor lit the candle, Owodunni was said to have gone up in flames, causing serious burns to her chest, shoulder and legs.  E yewitness said that the suspect was immediately arrested after the Divisional Police Officer in Adigbe, CSP Abdulfattah Ogunsanya, and his men stormed the premises on Tuesday. Revisiting the incident during her diary session with Biggie on Wednesday, Mercy explained how the words Alex had used  affected her, especially when Alex told her to “Go and die.” Expressing her desire to voluntarily exit the house, she said: “When Alex said ‘go and die,’ I felt like it wasn’t a big deal, even though she claimed not to remember saying it. “However, as I thought about it more, I realized I would never tell anyone to ‘go and die.’ “I felt incredibly sorrowful after the argument. Engaging in a quarrel with Alex, of all people, was unexpected. Now, I’m at a loss. And I feel like I’m ready to go home.”

  The police in Delta State on Tuesday said the confession of a male cross-dresser who claimed to be an actor, led to the arrest of 67 suspects - both male and female - for allegedly conducting and attending a same-sex wedding ceremony in the state. It was gathered that the Delta State command of the Nigeria Police Force arrested about 67 men suspected to be carrying out a “gay wedding ceremony”, in the state. It was also gathered  that the gay club party was organized at Teebulos Hotel, in Warri South Local Government Area of the State.   Detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has told the Federal Government that he will not beg for his release after being cleared by Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court in Abuja.   A South African, Erasmus Jean-Pierre, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja over attempt to smuggle 2.6 kilogrammes of methamphetamine, also known as Mkpuru Mmiri, via the Nigerian airport to the Middle East.   The Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy Hannatu Musawa believes her appointment does not violate the country’s law contrary to claims in several quarters.   Hannatu was sworn in minister last Monday with many Nigerians faulting her appointment since she is a member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), a mandatory one-year programme for Nigerian graduates not more than 30 years.   A pastor of a Pentecostal Church (name withheld) in Nnewi, Anambra State, identified as Pastor Prosper Igboke, has committed suicide after he jumped down from a two-storey building in Nnewi. Sources in the area said Igboke jumped down from the two-storey building and died instantly after he was jilted by his lover, whom he had spent so much on. A relative of the deceased who spoke to journalists on Saturday, said the 30-year-old man from Leru community in Umunneochi Local Government Area, Abia State, had trained his lover in the university, after which she declined his marriage proposal. He said, “The incident happened last month. The man (Igboke) was 30 years old at the time of his death. His girlfriend, whom he intended to marry disappointed him after seeing her through the university. “ He jumped down from a two-storey building and died.   Armed robbers on late Wednesday night invaded some hostels in the Rivers State University in Port Harcourt dispossessing students of their valuables and assaulting two female students sexually. It was gathered that the criminals had invaded Female Hostel D late Wednesday night operated at will without interruption.
