The Federal Ministry of Health has confirmed a coronavirus disease (COVID-19) case in Lagos State, Nigeria. The case, which was confirmed on the 27th of February 2020, is the first case to be reported in Nigeria since the beginning of the outbreak in China in January 2020.  The case is an Italian citizen who works in Nigeria and returned from Milan, Italy to Lagos, Nigeria on the 25th of February 2020. He was confirmed by the Virology Laboratory of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, part of the Laboratory Network of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control. The patient is clinically stable, with no serious symptoms, and is being managed at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos.   The Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Health has been strengthening measures to ensure an outbreak in Nigeria is controlled and contained quickly. A 40-year-old man, whose name was obtained as Paul Okwudili on Monday morning died in a hotel in Onitsha, Anambra State after a sex romp.  It was gathered that the lady who went to the hotel with the deceased called on the hotel management when the man’s breathing became abnormal. The Police on Saturday arrested a clergy, Pastor Kayode Elisha in Okelerin area of Ogbomosho, Oyo State for being in illegal possession of many babies heads including a female Private part. The suspect, who was arrested at Okelerin in Ogbomosho, was said to have also been caught with a heart and other parts of a female in his room. The Ogbomosho Police Public Relations Officer, SP Akerele Daniel said the Pastor was arrested following a tip-off and investigation by officers in the command. A pastor identified as Richard Ifeanyi Obi, was on Friday found dead in his room at No. 5 Onuorah Street Amaenyi Awka, Anambra State. According to a report by The Nation, the deceased was said to be in the town from Warri, Delta state to conduct prayers for a family when the incident took place.   The deceased was found lying lifeless where he was lodged. Frank Dallas, a Nollywood actor and production manager is dead.  The actor who is popularly known as “Adedibu” or “Killer” in movies reportedly died in a hotel room in Umuahia, Abia State on Wednesday.  The National President of AGN, Mr Emeja Rollas, who confirmed the death also declared three days of mourning for the late actor. An Ikeja High Court on Thursday sentenced a former part-time lecturer in the University of Lagos, Akin Baruwa, to 21 years imprisonment for raping an 18-year-old admission-seeker.  Justice Josephine Oyefeso, while sentencing Baruwa, described his action as heinous. Oyefeso held that the sentence should serve as a deterrent to others.  She said, “The offence committed against this young lady was a violation of her chastity which would have left huge emotional scars from which I pray and hope she will recover.  “I cannot begin to imagine the physical and mental trauma she has had to endure from the man whom she considered her father’s friend, a community leader who should have known better. This is a shame. “This is a crime that not only offends the survivor, it offends her family, it offends the society at large, it also offends God.  “I find you Baruwa Afeez Akin guilty of rape contrary to Section 258(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos, 2011, and I hereby convict you accordingly

A Nigerian man almost took the life of his wife by subjecting her to beatings after DNA test suggested he’s not the biological father of their kids.  The man who is a Canadian based citizen decided to fly his family with him to stay together in Canada. The man found out the paternity of his kids after Canadian Embassy requested for test to prove the children are his.  The man got the shock of his life when the DNA test results said he was not the biological father of any of the three (3) children. Nollywood actor and model, Bryan Okwara has announced the birth of his first child with his longtime partner, model Marie Miller on Instagram. The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano (Osodieme) has intervened on the deteriorating health of Nollywood star, Ernest Asuzu whose condition caused a major stir on social media recently.
