Man Kills Wife Then Shoved Her Corpse In A Refrigerator

A husband is set to spend the rest of his life in jail for stabbing his wife to death and shoving her body in a refrigerator. Patrick Lambert was given the life sentence on Thursday by a jury that took only ten minutes to find him guilty of murdering Anastacia Oaikhena-Lambert in Houston, Texas.
Anastacia’s body was found folded in half inside a refrigerator in her apartment on December 8, 2014 ten weeks after authorities say she died. The body was reportedly well preserved for weeks because the electricity remained on in the apartment. It was only discovered after the electricity was turned off and neighbors reported a foul odour.

Prosecutors said Lambert stabbed his wife approximately 20 times in the neck before shoving her body in the refrigerator. Afterwards, he took his 11-month-old son, Achilles, and fled to Mexico in September 2014. Prosecutor Nathan Moss said: ‘He begins living in a small town. Not Mexico City. Not Monterrey, he lives in a small town under an assumed name Patricio Jackson.’
Lambert was arrested in Mexico in December 2014. His son was found abandoned in Queretaro, Mexico, which is ten hours south of the border. He was brought back to the US and, in an unusual legal maneuver, chose to represent himself.
Lambert, who does not have a law degree, struggled while defending himself in court. He read his closing statement, which was handwritten and lasted 18 minutes. He said: ‘I’m no public speaker and I am no public writer, nor have I been trained 10 plus years and I definitely don’t have 20 plus years in experience at being a lawyer.’
‘What I do have is you, for you guys to be logical thinkers. The state attorney, the offense, is going to attempt to point the finger at me as the person who killed Ana Lambert.’ Prosecutors pointed to an email Lambert sent to his wife’s job, notifying them that Anastacia would not be returning to work because of a family tragedy.
Moss said: ‘If there was a smoking gun in the case, folks, that’s it. When the defendant tells somebody you’re never going to see her again. He knows she’s dead.’ It only took the jury ten minutes to decide Lambert’s fate, sentencing him to life behind bars and ordering him to pay a $10,000 fine.
