  An adult movie star, Anna Beatriz Pereira Alves, fell to her death from a Brazilian hotel balcony after she invited two men to take part in a filmed threesome. Anna, known online as Anna Polly, was found lifeless in a courtyard at an aparthotel in Nova Iguacu, roughly 25 miles northwest of Rio de Janeiro. The OnlyFans model, whom local media reports was 23, is believed to have fallen as she was filming X-rated scenes with the two men for the adult content site. The Tinubu-led Federal Government has donated the sum of N30 million to the family of the late Taiwo Akinkunmi, the designer of the Nigerian flag. Akinkunmi died on August 30, 2023, at 87, after a brief illness. He was buried on September 6, 2024, a year after his demise, after his family waited endlessly for the state burial promised by the Federal government. Lanre Issa-Onilu, the director-general of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), and Olukemi Afolayan, the Oyo state director of the agency, on Thursday officially presented the N30 million cheque on behalf of the federal government to Akinkunmi’s family at his residence in Elebu, Ibadan. A 38-year-old man who sparked violent protests after burning the Quran has been killed in Sweden. Salwan Momika is reported to have been killed in an apartment in Södertälje, Stockholm, on Wednesday evening, January 29, 2025. Unrest broke out after Mr Momika set fire to a copy of Islam's holy book outside Stockholm Central Mosque in 2023. Stockholm police said in a statement that five people had been arrested after a man in his 40s was shot dead overnight. Police said in a statement they had been alerted to a shooting in the city of Sodertalje, where Momika lived. The shooting occurred indoors and when police arrived they found a man who had been "hit by shots and the man was taken to hospital", the statement said.   Meta,  the parent company of Facebook will pay President Donald Trump of $25 million for banning his Facebook and Instagram accounts. The Lagos State government is set to rearraign Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, before Justice Adenike Coker today on an amended five-count charge, including murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to commit kidnapping. The Billionaire kidnap kingpin, Evans who is facing multiple cases of kidnapping and armed robbery had earlier been convicted and jailed by two Lagos courts. In February 2022, an Ikeja High Court Judge, Hakeem Oshodi, sentenced him to life imprisonment for the kidnap of Chief Donatus Dunu, the Chief Executive Officer of Maydon Pharmaceuticals Ltd. A tragic midair collision between an American Airlines plane carrying 64 passengers and a military helicopter on Wednesday night led to a catastrophic crash into the Potomac River. The incident involved a PSA Airlines Bombardier CRJ700 regional jet and a Sikorsky H-60 Black Hawk helicopter, both of which went down while attempting to land at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. A father is seeking justice for his 16-year-old son who suddenly became mentally unstable after confessing that he was sexually molested by a popular Lagos hotelier at Bucknor, Isheri Osun area of the state. The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed March 12, 2025, to give its verdict on the case seeking to stop the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) from arresting and prosecuting commercial sex workers (CSWs) in Abuja. Justice James Omotosho fixed the date after hearing arguments from the plaintiffs and the defense regarding the suit filed by the Incorporated Trustee of Lawyers Alert Initiative for Protecting the Rights of Children, Women, and the Indigent. The lawsuit, filed on May 14, 2024, names the AEPB, FCT Minister, Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), and the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) as defendants. The plaintiffs, represented by lawyers Rommy Mom, Bamidele Jacobs, and Victor Eboh, sought two key reliefs: 1. A determination of whether the AEPB’s duties under Section 6 of the AEPB Act, 1997, extend to the arrest, detention, and prosecution of women suspected of engaging in sex work. 2....

  Microsoft is in talks to acquire Tiktok, US President Donald Trump has revealed.   Trump stated this on Monday.   Recall that TikTok is facing a US law that ordered the company to divest from its Chinese owner, ByteDance, or be banned in the United States.   When asked late Monday if Microsoft was in discussion for acquiring TikTok, Trump told reporters:  “I would say yes.   “There’s a lot of interest in TikTok; there’s great interest in TikTok,”  he added.   According to him, a bidding war would also be a good development.   Recall that a law banning the video-sharing platform took effect on January 19 over concerns that the Chinese government could exploit it to spy on Americans or covertly influence US public opinion.   However, Trump has suspended its implementation for two and a half months, seeking a solution with Beijing.   TikTok temporarily shut down in the United States as the deadline for the law approached.   Trum...

Nigerian singer, Darlington Okoye popularly known as Speed Darlington who was recently released from detention for alleged defamation of Grammy-Award winning singer, Burna Boy has alleged that he survived a gunshot attack after leaving a club in Victoria Island, Lagos state early morning on January 27, 2025. Speed Darlington posted a video of his damaged car. He said he and his driver heard gunshots and a check later showed that the shots were fired at his car, leaving dents on the body of the car. A hotel that served as a front for a kidnappers' den, has been destroyed the Anambra State Government. This was disclosed on X by the official account of the Anambra State New Media office. The hotel, known as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites, aka La Cruise Hotel, is situated along Onitsha Owerri road in Oba, Idemili South LGA. At least 30 partitioned graves were found in the hotel. A shrine was also found. The X account managed by the New Media Office of Governor Soludo shared a video of the demolition and wrote:  "Demolition of kidnappers den disguised as Udoka Golden Point Hotel and Suites AKA 'La Cruise Hotel' along Onitsha Owerri road. On Saturday, Mercy Chinwo, the Nigerian gospel musician broke her silence on the battle between her and Ezekiel ThankGod aka Eezeetee, her former manager. A 30-year-old woman, Deveca Rose has been handed a 10-year jail term after her four sons died in a house fire after she locked them inside to go shopping at Sainsbury’s. Rose left her two sets of twins alone in the unsafe terraced house in Sutton, south-west London when the huge blaze broke out on the evening of December 16, 2021. Leyton and Logan Hoath, aged three, and four-year-olds Kyson and Bryson Hoath screamed out for help, and a neighbour desperately tried to break down the front door. Rose, who had split up with her partner and suffered from mental health problems, was found guilty of four counts of manslaughter.   The  Kuwait General Department of Criminal Investigation in Ahmadi Governorate has arrested two Nigerian nationals for their alleged involvement in armed robbery. The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior disclosed in a statement that the suspects were apprehended within 24 hours of carrying out a robbery at an exchange office in Mahboula, a district in the southern part of Kuwait City. Arab Times Online website posted a video of the robbery. It shows one of the suspects, wearing a hooded top, exiting a white car before entering the exchange office. Inside the office, the suspect is seen pointing a gun at the exchange office staff. The suspects reportedly stole foreign currencies equivalent to 4,600 Kuwaiti Dinars, valued at approximately $14,918.69.   Vladimir  Putin, the President of Russia has reacted to a comment by US President Donald Trump. Trump had warned that if Putin doesn't stop the war in Ukraine, he will impose tariffs and sanctions.   Recall that Trump had said he would be forced to put “high levels of Taxes, Tariffs, and Sanctions” on anything sold by Russia if Putin refused to negotiate an end to his war in Ukraine.   However, Dmitry Peskov, Kremlin spokesman, also responded to Trump’s threat of sanctions and tariffs. “We do not see any particularly new elements here. Two clergymen, Prophet Bassey Umoren (60) and Prophet Elijah Anietie (50) have been arrested by the Rivers State Police Command. Their arrest follows the discovery of fetish items, including caskets, monkey skulls, and carved skeletons in their respective churches.
