Image
They say the longer we live, the more wonders we see and this English proverb cannot be any truer if Ann Grace Aguti's story is anything to go by. Aguti is from the Teso community, in Uganda, and she has left jaws on the floor after she got married to three men simultaneously and lived with them. Speaking to Sunday Vision, Aguti said she is the head of the family and all her husbands are comfortable with the marriage, with all heeding to a 'bedmatics' duty roster.  "I gave three out of my seven huts to my husbands and they all comply to a conjugal roster. They get along very well," she said. Aguti's life has been a blitz of men and her current trio absolutely adore her despite her having a swarm of other lovers. Enyaku who was a senior bachelor before marrying the lass was the first among the current husbands and he is under the impression that he is the woman's favourite. The second husband, Alich, is a widower with 10 adult children. He met

Women In Kenya Celebrates As Government Legalizes Polygamy

Image
A new law that went into effect in Kenya this week makes it legal for a man to marry as many women as he wants. And a leading women’s group is applauding it.  President Uhuru Kenyatta signed the polygamy measure into law Tuesday, formally recognizing what has long been a cultural practice in the nation. Parliament passed the bill in March despite protests from female lawmakers who angrily stormed out of the late-night session at the time. The bill initially allowed the first wife the right to veto the husband’s choice of additional spouses. Male members of parliament successfully pushed to get that clause dropped. “Marriage is the voluntary union of a man and a woman whether in a monogamous or polygamous union,” Kenyatta said in a statement. “The Marriage Act 2014 defines various types of marriages including monogamous, polygamous, customary, Christian, Islamic and Hindu marriages.” The law legalizes polygamous unions, but does not provide an official limit on the number of wi

Huawei's Foldable Mate X Is Launching In China By Next Month

Image
Huawei was understandably cautious in the lead up to the Mate X. Watching Samsung’s Galaxy problems unfolding in what seemed like slow motion caused the company to rethink its strategy. Shortly after the Fold went back to the drawing board, Huawei announced it would be doing the same in order to dot all of its I’s and cross its Xs. After a well-received debut way back in February at Mobile World Congress, the Mate X is finally ready to come to market. The device is set to arrive on November 15, several months after its planned summer release.  It will be hitting the company’s native China with the almost unthinkably lofty starting price of 16,999 yuan ($2,400). Of course, in addition to being Huawei’s first crack at foldables, the device also supports 5G, a fact that is apparently central to the roll out. Huawei says it's looking to bring it to other markets down the road, depending on 5G availability. Though for reasons, the device will likely not be available in certain

"Royal Noble Consort Sineenat is ungrateful and behaves in ways unbecoming of her title. She is also not content with the title bestowed upon her, doing everything to rise to the level of the queen," the statement said.
