FAILED FORTIFICATION: Enugu State Police Arrest Native Doctor, Father Over Son’s Death

  Enugu State Police Command has confirmed the death of a young man during a failed fortification. It was gathered that the n ews went viral of a young man whose father took to a native doctor for fortification, but he died one hour after he was buried alive. In a statement made available to journalists on Tuesday night, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, Police Public Relations Officer, Enugu State Command, said the suspects have been arrested. According to him, “ The Enugu State Police Command is making the public aware of the recent occurrence and handling of two separate murder cases. “In the first case, a native doctor, one Enuwa Odugu “m”, aged 48, and Uwakwe Eze “m”, aged 67, were arrested for conspiracy and murder of Eze’s 26-year-old son, one Chikwado Celestine Eze. “The incident is alleged to have occurred when Uwakwe Eze took his son to the native doctor’s shrine for rituals intended to fortify him with charms. Hisbah Retracts Alleged Adultery Charges Against Jigawa Commissioner, Auwal Sankara

  Kano Hisbah has  retracted an earlier report that accused the Jigawa State’s Commissioner for Special Duties, Auwal Danladi Sankara of immoral act. A Kano State Hisbah Board official, Malam Aliyu Dakata retracted the report.   The allegation which dented the image of Sankara, has now been removed, clearing his name of any inappropriate behaviour with a married woman, Tasleem Baba Nabegu.   The accusations led to the Commissioner’s suspension by the Jigawa State Governor.   Dakata gave the clarification in a recent interview, stating that Sankara was not involved in any immoral act.   “When we arrived at the scene, we found Tasleem in her car making a phone call, while Sankara was standing in the compound of a building under construction that belongs to him. There was no evidence of any illicit relationship,”  Dakata stated. Controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, is currently in detention at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos State, where he spent the night in a cell at the police facility. A source, who confirmed the development said further directives were being awaited regarding Okuneye’s case, adding that he was taken to the FCID for safekeeping following his arrest by officials of the Nigeria Immigration Service during his attempt to exit the country through the Seme border.   The  Kano State Hisbah Board has declared Auwal Danladi Sankara, the suspended Commissioner for Special Duties in Jigawa, wanted over allegations of adultery. The Commander General of the board, Aminu Daurawa, revealed this during a press briefing in Kano on Monday, stating that Sankara was allegedly caught in an unfinished building with a married woman, following intelligence reports. Daurawa explained that the accusations against Sankara came from the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, who had filed multiple complaints, accusing the commissioner of engaging in an illicit relationship with his wife, Tasleem Nabegu, the mother of their two children. “We attempted to resolve the issue amicably by inviting both families. “No Evidence Bobrisky Slept Outside Prison During Jail Term” – Federal Government Panel

  A  panel setup by the Federal Government has dismissed claims by controversial activist, Verydarkman that the crossdresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky slept outside the prison during his six-month jail term.   Tragedy  unfolded in Nibo, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State on Sunday, as a violent attack by masked gunmen resulted in multiple fatalities during the Onwa Asaa festival, a traditional community celebration.   OrderPaper, an  online publication focused on Nigeria’s National Assembly, has criticized the Department of State Services (DSS) for its recent invasion of the home of one of its staff members, Edna Ulaeto, and her subsequent arrest. The media outlet in a statement issued on Friday described how operatives from the DSS forcibly took Ulaeto from her home, although the location was not disclosed.   Angry students from the College of Health Sciences and Technology in Jega, Kebbi State, have set fire to the residence of the college Provost, Haruna Saidu-Sauwa, amid accusations of extortion involving N23 million in fees.  During the unrest, the provost's vehicle was also vandalised by the students.  The unrest was reportedly triggered by claims of extortion by the college management, demanding N23 million for index registration from students.   The United States government has asked a District Court, Northern District of Georgia to approve the forfeiture of approximately $14 million in assets from Allen Ifechukwu Onyema, the Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, following a recent superseding indictment.   The indictment outlined serious allegations of fraud and money laundering against Onyema and his associate, Ejiroghene Eghagha, who is the Chief of Administration and Finance at Air Peace. The indictment includes multiple counts against the defendants: Count One alleges conspiracy to commit bank fraud, while Counts Two through Four detailed instances of bank fraud. Count Five pertains to conspiracy to commit credit application fraud, followed by Counts Six through Eight for credit application fraud.   The  Jigawa State Police Command Wednesday attributed the high number of casualties and injured persons in Tuesday night’s fuel tanker explosion to desperate moves by the people in the area to scoop the product after spilling on the road. The accident, according to report, occurred at Majiya town in Taura local government area of the state. The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, said this in a statement made available to journalists in Dutse. The explanation came as Governor Umar Namadi joined a sea of sympathisers during the funeral rites in honour of about 105 victims burnt beyond recognition, after which they were buried in a mass grave. Court To Hear ‘No-Case Submission’ Of Chidinma’s Sister, One Other On December 5

  Proceedings were stalled on Tuesday in the trial of an undergraduate, Chidinma Ojukwu, charged with the murder of Super TV Chief Executive Officer, Michael Usifo Ataga. Chidinma Ojukwu,  a 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos, is standing trial before the Lagos State High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square. She is being prosecuted alongside her sister, Chioma Egbuchu, and one Adedapo Quadri for the murder of Ataga on June 15, 2021. The court had fixed Tuesday to hear a no-case submission filed by Quadri and Egbuchu but the absence of Egbuchu’s lawyer stalled the hearing. The counsel, CJ Jiakpona had sent in a letter to the court asking for an adjournment. He said he went for another matter at the Federal High Court.
