Peter Obi Officially Picks Up ADC Membership Card In Anambra State

Former presidential candidate under Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has collected his membership card for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Obi formally picked up his card during the flag-off ceremony of the Anambra State ADC registration and mobilization exercise held on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

The event attracted party members and supporters from across the state.

Obi’s move comes amid earlier speculation about his possible return to the Labour Party (LP).

It was earlier reported that the former Anambra State governor declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, stating that he would not be intimidated by the large number of governors currently in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Obi said several attempts had been made to discourage him from the race but insisted that he would not be deterred.

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti has told the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to stay calm and steadfast as he continues efforts to secure his release. It was gathered that the governor visited the IPOB leader at the Sokoto Correctional Centre on Sunday, November 30, 2025. This was disclosed on Sunday night in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma. Court Orders Nigerian Government To Serve Court Documents On Nnamdi Kanu Ahead Of Trial

  The Federal High Court in Abuja has given an order to the Federal Government.   It ordered the Federal Government to always serve Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu with documents and materials intended to be submitted as exhibits before they are tendered in court.   Justice James Omotosho said such documents and materials must be front loaded and be made available to the defendant as required by law so as not to catch him unawares in the defense of terrorism charges filed against him.   The judge issued the order on Tuesday during the resumption of Kanu’s trial on terrorism charges.   Issues arose when the second prosecution witness (PW2), codenamed as PWBBB, testified that he was assigned by the Attorney General of the Federation to investigate Kanu.   He described Kanu as the operator of Radio Biafra and the founder of the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
