Governor Soludo Arrests Pastor For Noise Pollution, Bans Gospel Preaching In Public Places

  Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo has arrested a pastor for preaching in an open place. The governor said the act constituted noise pollution. He also banned open gospel preaching in the state, saying that everyone’s religion deserved to be respected. Soludo made this known in a viral video that is already circulating on the social media space, where he confronted a preacher in a market. The governor warned the preacher to desist from the act, stating that it contravenes the law. He emphasized that one cannot exercise their fundamental rights by disturbing others with noise pollution. He said:  “If you want to preach, go to your church and preach. Justice John Tsoho, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, has reassigned the case of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to another judge. This was disclosed by Kanu’s lead Counsel, Aloy Ejimakor via a statement on Saturday. Ejimakor disclosed that Kanu is ready to face his trial because he’s convinced of his innocence. In a statement signed by Ejimakor, he said:  “Yesterday, before the legal team conducted our routine visitation to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, we received two separate official letters regarding his case. The Federal Government has designated and sanctioned multiple individuals and entities, including prominent separatist leader Simon Ekpa, for allegedly financing terrorism. The sanctions, which include the immediate freezing of all funds, assets, and economic resources, were announced on Thursday following a meeting of the Nigeria Sanctions Committee in Abuja. “How Yahaya Bello Paid $845,852 For Children’s Future Tuition Fees” – American School Reveals

An official of American International School, Abuja, told the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday how the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, paid a total of $1,606,763.68 in tuition fees for his children, including an advance payment of $845,852 for future enrollment. Nicholas Ojehomon, an auditor at the school, disclosed this while testifying as a prosecution witness for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He confirmed that the payments covered the children’s tuition until graduation. According to Ojehomon, the payments were made in two tranches, with one part allocated as an advance for future school fees.   A Nigerian woman has narrated how she was deported while pregnant after arriving the United States of America.   She had gone to the country to give birth but was deported after arrival at the airport and her visa was revoked.   She took to Tiktok to share her experience.   She said:   “Playing with my daughter cause life didn’t end when I went to America to give birth to her, but was denied entry into the country and my visa was cancelled. With the stress, I fell into labour, was rushed to the hospital in Houston.” ”Immediately I became a bit okay, they put me on the next available flight back to Nigeria, my husband offered for me to go somewhere.   Controversial  social media critic, Martins Vincent Otse popularly known as VeryDarkMan has been summoned by the Chief Magistrate Court in Wuse Zone 6 over the defamation suit filed against him by gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo. In a court order dated March 5, 2025, Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Iyanna directed VDM to personally appear before the court on March 13, 2025, to respond to the accusations brought by Chinwo. The case stems from alleged defamatory statements made by VDM on social media, where he accused the singer of contractual misconduct and the diversion of $345,000 in funds linked to her former record label boss, Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, also known as Eezee Tee. To support her claims, Chinwo presented documentary evidence, including emails and payment receipts, asserting that VDM’s allegations were completely false, damaging, and harmful to her public image. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has been suspended by the Nigerian Senate. She was suspended on Thursday March 6, 2025 for six months over the controversy surrounding her sexual harassment allegation against Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The suspension followed a report by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, submitted to the Committee of the Whole, citing several infractions on the Rules and Orders of the Senate. ALLEGED FRAUD: Court Postpones Arraignment Of Mercy Chinwo’s Former Manager

  The  trial of Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, the former manager of popular gospel singer, Mercy Chinwo, was adjourned on Thursday March 6, 2025 by the Federal High Court in Lagos, citing an ongoing administrative process. Onyedikachukwu and his company, Eezee Tee, face charges of money laundering and dishonest conversion of $340,000, filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). At Thursday’s hearing, prosecutor, Mrs Bilikisu Buhari appeared for the EFCC, while Mr Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN), and Dr Monday Ubani represented the defence. Both prosecution and defense confirmed readiness to proceed, but Justice Alexander Owoeye declined to take the plea, stating that the case could not move forward until the administrative issue was resolved. The defense argued that the dispute was contractual rather than criminal. The court adjourned the case to May 14, 2025.

Two Rotherham rapists found guilty of grooming and attacking vulnerable teenage girls in the UK have been sentenced to a total of nearly 40 years imprisonment. Ivorian national, Romulad Stefan Houphouet, 37, and Zimbabwean Absolom Sigiyo, 41, groomed and raped girls who were 'vulnerable in the extreme'. The men were jailed at Sheffield Crown Court for 20 years and 18-and-a-half years respectively with a judge saying they inflicted 'severe psychological harm'. During a five-week trial, the court was told how the girls were sexually assaulted several times a week over a period of six months in the South Yorkshire town by a gang of men who referred to them as 'fresh meat'. They plied the girls with alcohol and cigarettes at house parties so they could carry out the abuse. The supporters of the lawmaker representing Kogi Central in the Senate, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, have been dispersed by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), from accessing the National Assembly Complex. The supporters had converged at the assembly gate but were dispersed by police officers with tear gas to prevent a breakdown of law and order. The protesters had converged on the National Assembly gate as early as 8 am with the resumption of plenary and hearing of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition on scheduled for today. It was gathered that the protesters have now moved to the Unity Fountain for their protest. Akpoti-Uduaghan had clashed with Senate President Godswill Akpabio over seating arrangements on the floor of the Senate on February 20, 2025. She was thereafter referred to the Senate’s ethics committee. Last Friday, the Kogi lawmaker accused Akpabio of sexual harassment and maligning her because she refused his sexual advances.

A woman has been apprehended for alleged theft and burglary in Makurdi, the Benue State capital. The suspect was allegedly caught red handed on Monday, March 3, 2025 while allegedly burglarizing students' houses around Gyado Villa and carting away their belongings. Eyewitnesses claim she had been using keys to gain access to students' rooms. It was further claimed that she was involved in the string of thefts in Makurdi. The woman was severely beaten by an angry mob and is currently at risk of being killed. Photos making the rounds on Facebook show the woman with a tyre hung around her neck. Facebook users are calling on the Benue State Police to intervene and rescue her.

  Today, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) filed fresh charges of $1 million and £34,537.59 theft against Jude Okoye, the elder brother and former manager of Paul and Peter Okoye of the defunct music group, P-Square.   The charges are to be filed before the Lagos State Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja.   Justice Rahman Oshodi will hear the four counts charge filed before the court on January 27th by the EFCC Prosecutor, Aso Larry Peters.   Jude Okoye’s arraignment before the court was initially slated for Monday, March 3rd but could not go on because the defendant was absent in court as the Ikoyi Correctional Centre where he was remanded said it had not received any information for his arraignment.   In the charge, the EFCC, accused Okoye of dishonestly converting to his own use the sum of $767,544.15, a sum which was paid to Lex Records limited as payment for music digital distribution/publishing royalties with intent to permanently dep...

Twenty-five Muslim faithful have been arrested by the Kano Hisbah Board for allegedly eating, drinking, and selling food in public during fasting hours in the month of Ramadan. Mujahideen Abubakar, the board’s deputy commander general of operations, told the newsmen that the operation, which began on Saturday, will continue until the end of the month. “It is important to note that we don’t concern ourselves with non-Muslims — any disrespect for Ramadan would not be condoned, ” he said. “It’s heart-breaking that in such a holy month meant for fasting, adult Muslims would be seen eating and drinking publicly. Court Grants Jude Okoye N100 Million Bail In Fraud Case

Jude Okoye, the older brother and former manager of the defunct music group P-Square, has been granted a N100 million bail by the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, ahead of his trial for alleged fraud. Okoye was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on charges of laundering N1.38 billion, $1 million, and £34,537.59.  He pleaded not guilty and was initially remanded in the Ikoyi Correctional Facility by Justice Alexander Owoeye. His counsel, Inibehe Effiong, had requested that he be kept in EFCC custody instead, but the prosecution counsel, Larry Peters Aso, opposed the request. During Friday’s hearing, the defense filed a bail application, which the prosecution countered with an affidavit, arguing that Okoye posed a flight risk and could interfere with witnesses.
