“I Was Offered ₦5 Billion Bribe To Impeach Fubara” – Rivers State Chief Of Staff

  Edison  Ehie has opened up that he was offered ₦5 billion to coordinate the impeachment of suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara. Ehie who is currently the Chief of Staff made the claim while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.   Ehie claimed he has evidence of the bribe offer stored on his phone.   “I can also open my phone to show you, in the beginning of October 2023, when they approached me with a bribe of ₦5 billion. Edo State Government Launches Manhunt For Killers Of Hunters As Okpebholo Suspends Illegal Vigilantes, Commander

  Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo has directed the immediate suspension of all illegal Vigilante Groups operating in the State and the suspension of the State’s Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, CP Friday Ibadin (Rtd.). The suspensions followed a review of the preliminary report of the unfortunate incident of Thursday 27th March, 2025 at Uromi in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State involving the gruesome killing of some northern travelers. In a statement on Sunday, the Secretary to the Edo State Government, Musa Ikhilor, reiterated that the local vigilante group involved in the gruesome killing was operating illegally as it was never profiled or registered with Edo State Security Corps. A Nigerian woman reportedly shut down her multimillion-naira supermarket following an order by her church pastor. This revelation came through a video shared on TikTok, where the woman detailed her experience. Hotel Manager And Three Others Arrested Over The Murder Of Guest In Delta State

The manager of Century Home Hotel in Owhelogbo community, Isoko North Local Government, alongside three others, has been arrested by the Delta State Police Command in connection with the gruesome murder of a guest identified as Bishop Sunday Ogofotha.   The spokesperson of the command, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the arrest in a statement on Friday, March 28, 2025, said the manager of the hotel conspired with two boys who promised him N5,000,000 to allow them into Sunday's room.   The PPRO, who paraded the arrested manager and the others, stated that Sunday's corpse was discovered in the hotel on Friday, March 21, 2025.   Edafe noted that when the deceased, an indigene of the community, arrived from Lagos for a relative's burial and checked into the hotel, he called his wife and informed her of his location.   The funeral was scheduled for Saturday but the deceased was not seen.   Relatives called his wife who informed them of his location.   Based on th...

16 Men Captured And Burnt To Death After Being Found With Guns In Edo State

  Sixteen travellers from the Northern region of the country were burnt to death by an angry mob in the Udune Efandion community of Uromi, Edo State, after being accused of kidnapping. The incident occured on Thursday March 27, 2025. The men were said to be traveling from Port Harcourt to Kano for Sallah when they were intercepted around 1:30 p.m. by local vigilantes. They were said to have been found with machetes and local dane guns, causing the local vigilantes to accuse them of kidnapping. This accusation elicited a mob attack. Youths in the community reportedly set the truck they were travelling in ablaze, leaving some bodies trapped inside the vehicle. IMF Appoints Nigerian Businessman, Tony Elumelu To Advisory Council

  Nigerian billionaire and group chairman of Heirs Holdings, owners of United Bank of Africa (UBA) Tony Elumelu has gotten an international appointment.   The International Monetary Fund (IMF), has appointed him to its advisory council on entrepreneurship and growth, convened by Kristalina Georgieva, the fund managing director.   The announcement was disclosed in a statement on Friday.   According to the statement, the IMF advisory council comprises global business leaders, policymakers, and academics dedicated to identifying and addressing regulatory barriers to entrepreneurship.   The IMF said Elumelu will be instrumental in ensuring that Africa’s entrepreneurship is central in policy making.   “Elumelu, Africa’s leading advocate of entrepreneurship and whose Foundation has funded, mentored, and trained over 25,000 African entrepreneurs since 2015, champions entrepreneurship as the engine for the economic transformation of Africa,” the statement reads. ...

  The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially began payment of the newly approved ₦77,000 monthly allowance to corpers.   The money is being paid to corpers nationwide.   Several corps members have also confirmed receiving the upgraded stipend on Wednesday March 26, 2025 with many sharing screenshots of their credit alerts.   Recall that recenlty, the NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Oluseye Nafiu had assured that the increased allowance would take effect this month.   However, not all corps members have received the ₦77,000 stipend, as some are still awaiting payments. White Lady Accuses Chimamanda Adichie Of Having Twins Via Surrogacy

Judge Hands Off Natasha's Case, Cites Akpabio's Petition

Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on Tuesday, March 25, recused himself from hearing the lawsuit filed by suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan. The trial judge based his decision on a petition the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, wrote to challenge his objectivity in the matter. Though the suit was originally fixed for hearing, however, when the matter was called up by the court’s clerk, Justice Egwuatu, announced his decision in a short ruling he delivered. He said the case-file would be returned back to the Chief Judge for a reassignment to another judge. It will be recalled that Justice Egwuatu had on March 4, issued an interim order that stopped the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions from going ahead with the disciplinary proceeding that was initiated against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan over an allegation that she flouted rules of the legislative house. Court Fines MTN Nigeria N840 Million For Trademark Offence

  MTN Nigeria Communications Limited has been fined for infringing on the registered trademark “WEBPLUS,” owned by Citilink Accesscorp Limited.   Justice Akintayo Aluko of the Federal High Court in Lagos fined MTN N840 million.   Justice Aluko, who imposed the fine while delivering judgment on a suit marked HC/L/CS/1124/2014 filed by Citilink, held that MTN’s use of “MTN WEBPLUS” or “MTN WEB+” unlawfully mimicked the plaintiff’s trademark.   The judge awarded N70 million yearly damages, covering Citilink’s loss of business and brand dilution from 2014 to 2025.   The court also ordered MTN to pay the applicant 15 per cent interest per annum on the judgment sum until it is fully paid.   Citilink Accesscorp Limited, in a suit filed on July 17, 2024, accused MTN Nigeria of infringing on its trademark “WEBPLUS,” which was legally registered in 2001 under Class 9 and renewed in 2014.   Citilink had argued that MTN’s use of “MTN WEBPLUS” and similar variants ...
