  A man has alleged that Cross River State media aide,  Hon Solomon Akongfe Aboh sexually molested and assaulted a woman in search of a job.   Solomon Valentine, a public speaker and youth advocate shared photos of the woman with a bleeding face and wrote: "She was brought to Calabar by the  SA @AbohHon on the grounds that he will give her a job with cali air.     "He now kept her and started making sexual advances at her when  she refused this is the result. This is not the first."     Sharing a photo of the media aide's ID card, Solomon added: "She has been sexually molested by her boss severely when she requested for money to enable her travel back to Lagos where her parents stay @AbohHon Hon.Aboh,Solomon attempted to kill her. The ID card belongs to the boss for reference purpose."     Hon. Aboh is yet to respond to the allegations.   See the public speaker's tweets below.  

  A chief magistrate’s court sitting in Dutse, Jigawa State capital has sentenced one Sabi’u Ibrahim Chamo, pictured left, to prison for the defamation of character of the state governor, Badaru Abubakar.   Chamo was first arrested on Christmas eve December 24 and detained before he was charged to court for failure to substantiate the allegations he made on Facebook. He had alleged that the governor had duped many APC aspirants by collecting their money to give them party tickets.   During the trial, after the first information was read to him, Chamo pleaded guilty to the charge and the court sentenced him to six months in prison, with options of payment of N20,000 fine and 20 strokes of cane to serve as a deterrent to others.

  A Russian sumo wrestler who was dubbed the 'world's strongest kid' weighing 23 stone when he was nine, has died at the age of 21 from acute kidney problems.   Dzhambulat Khatokhov, nicknamed Gladiator by his classmates, rose to fame at the age of three when he was hailed the strongest and heaviest child on the planet.   His passing was announced by Betal Gubzhev, 29, the president of Sumo and Mass Wrestling Federation of Kabardino-Balkaria, the Russian region where he lived.   The cause of death has not been revealed by his family but reports say he had suffered from acute kidney problems amid deep concern for his weight and health.   At the age of six, Dzhambulat weighed 15 stone and wore size ten shoes.He became known around the world as a young boy and featured in several TV documentaries.   His mother Nelya, a nurse, then 42, hit back at the time in the international media at claims she was neglecting the health of her child.   'He is just growing — upwards and ou

  A Zambian man has told police he killed his married girlfriend's husband in self defence after the deceased caught them in bed together.   According to Zambian Observer, police in Kitwe arrested Enock Mwenda for killing his lover's husband on December 21, 2020.   It was gathered that the deceased, a bricklayer returned home from work that fateful day after having been away on duty for two weeks. The boyfriend visited his lover not knowing the husband was coming back that evening. The husband found the two in bed and there was confrontation during which the suspect overpowered the deceased and hit him on the head with a stool, killing him instantly. During police interrogation on December 25, Enock said he was shocked when the man caught him in bed with his wife.    "I have been going out with his wife since 29th January 2018 when I employed her in one of my shops within Kitwe and her husband has never caught me," Enock said.    "He caught me red handed in his b

  Veteran Nigerian  Rapper, Lotanna Udezue popularly known as Biglo has passed away on Christmas Day after battling kidney disease. He was confirmed dead by his colleague and friend, Jazzman Olofin.  Olofin said; “Yes, Biglo has died. As far as I know, he had been sick for a period of time. He had been battling kidney disease, he had been informing the public through his social media account for some time now. ” I received a phone call from our mutual friends in the United States last night when he died Friday, which was Christmas Day. Unfortunately, I have no idea how old he was.” Prior to his death, the veteran rapper went public with his kidney ailment in 2018. He opened a Gofundme page in which he requested for public funds. He claimed that he had to undergo dialysis three times a week since its discovery.   A resident of Adamawa state, Evelyn Lazarus shared photos of herself and some residents in the bush on Chritsmas Eve when Boko Haram terrorists were attacking Gardika town in Gombi local government area of Adamawa state.    It was gathered that the insurgents invaded the town through the major road linking the area with Biu in Borno state. Residents were forced to flee the town into the bush and mountainous areas as the invading terrorists looted food items and burnt houses amidst sporadic shooting.   Another resident who identified herself as Rebecca disclosed that the insurgents stormed the town when the people were making last minutes preparations for Christmas.   “They came into the town with about five vehicles and moments they started sporadic shootings forcing the villagers to flee in the ensuing confusion. We could see them from afar in our hideouts as they continue to loot, ravage houses, pharmaceutical stores even as domestic animals were not left out." she stated   

A pair of young brothers eager to open their gifts on Christmas morning died in a massive house fire, forcing their mother to jump from an upstairs window with a 2-year-old child in her arms, according to new reports. De’Lon Wheeler, 7, and Damarion Wheeler, 6, “fell asleep by the tree because they were so excited about getting up,” their mother, Demika Pinson, said to the Detroit News.  Both kids were killed as the morning fire ripped through their two-story building on Friday, Christmas day. Two of the boys’ other siblings, who slept on the second floor after being told to do so by their mother, made it out of the house alive but with injuries.  The girl, 8, and the boy, 10, were treated for second-degree burns and smoke inhalation, respectively.   A Nigerian lady, Adesekonge-Ire has informed intending suitors that she does not believe in sex before marriage.   "Before you DM me, I 'm a Christian and I believe in waiting till marriage for sexual relations. tnx" said Konge, who is proudly a Feminist.    Her tweet elicited comments from the men who said if she has to wait till marriage to have sex then she should also not ask for money before marriage.   Others questioned her feminist stance as according to them, a Christian shouldn't be a Feminist.    Reacting to the comments, Konge urged women to try and be financially independent as apparently from the responses, men only give money to women in exchange for sex.    "The responses to that tweet proves that men only give money to women because they want sex in return. Women, wake up! Make your money so these men would know to have something better to offer in a relationship asides money. You are not a sex worker, stop giving sex for money."  

  Bengaluru police have arrested two Nigerian nationals and recovered as many as 3,300 Ecstasy pills and 600 gm of MDMA (Methylenedioxy-Methamphetamine) powder valued at Rs 1 crore (N51,748,548.04)   The accused have been identified as Donchucks Okeke aka Tam Tam Dominique, 39, and Celestine Anugwa aka Omema, 40.   The police said that both the accused were living in Bengaluru for the last couple years and have not produced their legal passport and visa yet.   “The duo claimed that their passports have expired and they are living in India illegally,” the police said in a statement on Friday, December 25.    The Bengaluru East division police said in its statement that the duo was arrested while trying to sell this narcotic substance at a roadside tea stall behind Bagmane Tech park in Byappanahalli in the city.   The police said the duo procured the drugs through Darknet from the United Kingdom in order to sell them at high price during Christmas and New Year rave parties.    Besides th

In this year alone, a lot has happened especially with the hit of the deadly disease called Coronavirus (COVID-19) which has killed and still killing people around the world. In Nigeria, another sad hit happened shortly after Independence Day (October 1), the #LekkiMassacre which was on the 20th of October that took lives of innocent #EndSARS protesters. Few weeks ago, one hundred and something rice farmers were massacred by the Boko Haram Terrorists in the North Eastern part of the country. Truly, no year is perfect, there must be ugly incidents in our lives and that of the country or countries in general that's life!   South African media personality, Pearl Thusi has opened up on her battle with colorism and depression.    Thusi in an interview with podcaster MacG,  talked about her battle with being light-skinned. She recounted burning her skin when she was a child for people to stop teasing her because she didn't grow up around other light-skinned people, and also darkening her skin to fit in with the people around her.   She said;    “I used to burn my skin when I was a child for people to stop teasing (me).   A 23-year-old student of the Federal College of Education (Technical) Akoka, Dare Williams, who was recently arrested for snatching a vehicle from a hailing service driver, has said he turned to armed robbery because he was desperate to gather enough money to pay Davido or Runtown to feature in his own album.   According to police report, Williams, who is an upcoming artiste, lured his friend, Bethel Chukwuocha, 18, to snatch the Toyota Corolla car from the driver, Clement Aniegbe, on Monday night December 21. Armed with a kitchen knife, the suspects ordered a ride from Lekki to Gbagada.   Apple Inc. is moving forward with self-driving car technology and is targeting to produce a passenger vehicle that could include its own breakthrough battery technology come 2024, people familiar with the matter told Reuters.?   The iPhone maker's efforts to make automobiles, known as Project Titan, have proceeded since 2014 when it first started to design its own vehicle from scratch.   Apple later drew back the effort to focus on software and reassessed its goals.   Doug Field, an Apple veteran who had worked at Tesla, returned to oversee the project in 2018 and laid off 190 people from the team in 2019.?   Since then, Apple has progressed enough that it now aims to build a vehicle for consumers, two people familiar with the effort said, asking not to be named because Apple's plans are not public, according to CNBC.

  Customs officers in Mali have seized gold estimated to be worth seven million euros ($8.5 million) hidden in a car.   According to the Mali government, the 143 kilograms (315 pounds), 88 bars of gold was en route to neighbouring Guinea and was discovered on Saturday night, December 19. The 88 bars discovered overnight Saturday were “destined to be exported without the knowledge of customs officers, which would have disrupted our economy”, said Amidou Fakourou Bakagha, deputy director general of the customs service, on Monday, December 21.   The poor, landlocked country in western Africa is the fifth-biggest gold producer on the continent, according to the World Bank, and due to the porous nature of their borders, seizures of gold traffickers is usual.   Its industrial and small-scale mining makes the precious metal the country’s biggest export product, according to the World Bank.

  Comic actor Charles Inojie was robbed at gunpoint in Lagos traffic.   The incident happened on Sunday night, Dec 20.   Fortunately, he was unhurt from the experience but he lost his personal belongings.    His colleague, Chinedu Ikedieze announced the news and asked people to be careful.
