Rapper Cardi B Angrily Throws Microphone Into Audience As Fan Tosses Drink At Her On Stage

  An American rapper, Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar Cephus popularly known as Cardi B furiously hurled her microphone at an audience member who tossed drink at her on stage during a performance. The viral video started circulating on social media Saturday night as it showed the 30-year-old music star surprised when the fan in the crowd flung liquid from a cup at her while she was performing. It was gathered  that Mercy and Ike were love interests during the BBNaija 2019 edition tagged “Pepper Dem” until their relationship hit the rocks after the show. The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has fixed Tuesday, August 1, 2023, for the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the Labour Party (LP), respectively Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, to adopt their final addresses in their petitions against the 2023 election. Both Atiku and Obi are challenging the declaration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the February 25 presidential election on various allegations. A hearing notice issued by the Tribunal and served on Atiku and Obi indicated that the adoption would be held by 9 am. “Kidnappers Killed About 20 Victims In My Presence” – Anambra Native Doctor

A native doctor, Chidozie Nwangwu, freed by kidnappers in Anambra State, said on Saturday that he witnessed the killing of about 20 other victims by the kidnappers. The native doctor, popularly called Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki, was kidnapped at his Triple P Hotel in Oba, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State at about 11:30 pm on Sunday, July 23. Narrating his ordeal, Nwangwu disclosed that he would have escaped from the kidnappers’ den if he wanted to but that his abductors would have killed more people if he left. It was gathered  that the native doctor was released by his abductors in the early hours of Saturday after they collected an undisclosed amount as ransom. The Anambra State Police spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed his release to journalists on Saturday. A suspected member of a dreaded armed robbery gang on Saturday met his Waterloo during a shoot-out with police operatives in Owerri, the capital of Imo State. It was gathered  that the gunmen stormed a popular jewellery shop, Goldwise Jewellery Shop, at Ikenegbu Layout near Kilimanjaro Ekwema Crescent Owerri, around 1pm. Eye witnesses said that the criminal gang of seven, who came in a white Toyota Hilux, encountered the operatives of the police command who had cordoned the area after shooting the driver. Other members of the gang fled after the police shot the driver. He further said two suspects were arrested and recovered ammunition during the operation. “Lady Clubber Drowned, Not Beaten To Death” – Anambra Police

Police authorities in Anambra have insisted that Miss Chinyere Awuda, a lady clubber who was found dead in an abandoned swimming pool in a hotel in Anambra two weeks ago actually drowned, and not beaten to death. Citing an autopsy report, a press release by the spokesperson of Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga stated that the lady drowned. There had been a huge cry over the death of Awuda. She was said to have gone clubbing at Cosmila Hotel, Awka, but was accused of pilfering money being sprayed on a celebrant, leading to her being beaten to death and dumped in an abandoned swimming pool. But the hotel management in their explanation insisted that she stole money from the club, and ran out and hid in a dark area, where she mistakenly fell into the abandoned swimming pool and drowned.   The crown gold ring worn by the late American rapper and actor, Tupac Amaru Shakur, was sold for $1 million in a New York auction on Tuesday. The ring was worn by the late singer during his last public appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 1996. Tupac’s godmother, Yaasmyn Fula, while providing the ring to the auction house, stated that the ring, which bears the Pac & Dada 1996 inscription on its side, was designed for him in New York City after his release from jail and his signing with Death Row Records. The auction house said the ring, which is made of gold, rubies, and diamond crowns, became the most valuable hip-hop artefact ever sold, the New York Post reports. Tupac was shot dead at age 25 on September 13, 1996, by an unidentified assailant in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas.

The senate has urged the federal government to collaborate with the Finnish government to extradite Simon Ekpa for prosecution, given his alleged roles in persistent sit-at-home orders and killings in the South-east. The senate resolution was a sequel to the consideration and adoption of a motion at plenary on Wednesday. The motion titled: “Condemning the disruptive Nature of Five Sit-At-Home Demonstrations in South-east Nigeria” was sponsored by Osita Izunaso (APC-Imo).   Bronny James, the eldest son of NBA superstar LeBron James, is in stable condition after suffering a cardiac arrest during practice with his college basketball team, multiple US media reports said on Tuesday. Bronny James, 18, collapsed on the court while training with his University of Southern California team-mates on Monday, reports said citing a statement from the James family. “Yesterday while practicing Bronny James suffered a cardiac arrest,” the James family statement quoted by ESPN and Sports Illustrated said. “ Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital.   The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State has granted bail to Godwin Emefiele, the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), in the sum of N20 million. In a ruling on Tuesday, Nicholas Oweibo, the presiding judge, said the charges against Emefiele were bailable.  The bail was granted with one surety. It was gathered that  the court rejected the government’s claim that it had not received a copy of the bail application filed by Emefiele in his alleged gun possession trial. Justice Oweibo had held that there was evidence that the government was served. The bail application was filed by Emefiele’s lawyers led by Joseph Dauda (SAN). Dauda had prayed the court to hear the banker’s application seeking bail on self-recognition, noting that his client had fulfilled all the conditions necessary to make the application ripe for hearing.   Some aggrieved youths have taken to the streets of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, to demonstrate their grievances against the controversial video clip famous singer, Davido shared recently on his Twitter account. Recall that Davido came under severe criticisms after sharing a clip of the music video of his signee, Logos Olori’s new single ‘Jaye Lo’ which captures people praying and dancing in front of a mosque. Some prominent Nigerian Muslims including former aide to ex-president Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, Senator Shehu Sani, actor, Ali Nuhi, asked Davido to take down the video and apologize to Muslims for “disrespecting” their religion. The singer eventually bowed to the demands after 48 hours and deleted the video. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has reaffirmed its commitment to gradually phase out the old N200, N500, and N1,000 naira notes while issuing new currencies. This announcement was made by the acting governor of the apex bank, Folashodun Shonubi, during the Monetary Policy Committee meeting held at the CBN headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday . In October 2022, Godwin Emefiele, the former CBN governor, unveiled plans to redesign the N200, N500, and N1,000 naira bills. As part of the initiative, he called on Nigerians to deposit their old notes before January 31, 2023, as they would cease to be legal tender after that date. However, later on, the CBN disclosed that the former president, Muhammadu Buhari, had approved an extension of the deadline for the demonetisation of the old notes. Nevertheless, in March 2023, the Supreme Court invalidated the naira redesign policy introduced by the central bank, ruling that the old N200, N500, and N1,000 notes would remain as legal tender until Decemb

  Russian President, Vladimir Putin, on Monday signed a bill banning sex reassignment surgeries into law. The legislation, aimed at tighter regulation of what Members of Parliament described as the “transgender industry,” bans legal sex changes and medical interventions associated with transitioning except due to serious medical grounds. Administration of drugs and surgeries associated with gender reassignment therapy will now only be permitted in cases that require treatment of reproductive organ deformities in children. Only licensed clinics linked to the Russian Health Ministry can now make decisions on such treatments and issue relevant certificates, the legislation says. People can also no longer freely change their sex on IDs and other documents. Those who did so may not adopt children under the new law.   Suspected ritualists have reportedly killed and dismembered the body of a 32-year-old woman, identified as Dorcas Shangev, on her birthday in the Adem village, near the Welfare Quarters area of Makurdi, the Benue State capital. It was gathered that the deceased went missing about a week ago until her dismembered body was found dumped at Adem village, after her body parts were removed by her murderers. A family source in Makurdi, who relayed the events leading to her disappearance and death, said the incident was already generating controversy as her family had started questioning the manner her remains were recovered and buried by the authorities.
