Police Arrest Ex-Minister’s Son Over Alleged Robbery At Bureau De Change

  The police has reportedly arrested the son of an ex-minister over an alleged robbery attempt at an Abuja Bureau De Change.   The suspect whose father is a former Minister from Benue State, is in detention pending the conclusion of investigation over last week's attack on the BDC. He was accused of carrying out the operation in one of his father’s cars and a locally made rifle.    A source told The Nation;    “The former Minister’s son allegedly stormed a Bureau De Change in Abuja last week with a locally made rifle in order to haul some cash. He came to perpetrate the act in one of his father’s cars. “But while allegedly robbing the BDC, he was caught by vigilant forex marketers and beaten to a pulp before being handed over to the police. Decapitated Body Of Zambian Doctor Found As Police Launch Manhunt For Her Estranged Boyfriend

  A renowned Zambian medical doctor, Dr. Tasila Mercy Tembo has been found murdered days after she went missing. Her estranged soldier boyfriend is suspected to be behind the brutal murder.   The decapidated body of Dr. Tembo,47, was discovered on Tuesday, October 27, in Lusaka's Mikango Barracks area.      Her family reported to the Police that she went missing on Saturday, October 24. They said she and her estranged boyfriend had a quarrel the very day she went missing.   The remains of Dr. Tembo was buried on Thursday, October 29, at memorial  park in Lusaka because of the extent of decomposition of the body.   Acting Police Spokesperson Danny Mwale who confirmed the incident in a statement on Friday, October 31, said her body was discovered in a decomposed state covered with leaves in Nanking Army Training Centre in Mikango Barracks area.   Mr. Mwale said the police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect identified as Lieutenant Nigel Mwaba aged 33 of Zambia Army in Lusa

  Grammy award winning rapper, Lil Wayne, has publicly endorsed US president, Donald Trump, few days to the US presidential election, after reportedly having a meeting with the US leader in the White House.   Late on Thursday night, October 29, Lil Wayne tweeted a photo of himself standing beside  the US President, seemingly endorsing Trump and his “Platinum Plan” to create wealth and prosperity in the Black community over the next four years.  “Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrump @potus besides what he’s done so far with criminal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership.   A Nigerian gay man named Ayo took to Instagram to give a testimony after he tested positive for HIV after he was gang-raped.   Ayo said three men raped him exactly 5 years ago, when he was 19, because he's gay. 29-Year-Old Man Arrested For Allegedly Defiling His Neighbour's 7-Year-Old Daughter In Anambra

  The Anambra state police command has arrested a 29-year-old man identified as Ogbu Christian, for allegedly defiling his neighbor's seven-year-old daughter at Anichie street in Okpoko, a community in the state on Tuesday, October 27.   A statement released by the spokesperson of the state police command, Haruna Mohammed, states that police operatives attached to Okpoko Division arrested the suspect who allegedly lured the victim and had unlawful carnal knowledge with her inside his room using biscuit as a bait.   Haruna said immediately the report was made at the station, police detectives visited the scene and took the victim to the hospital for medical Examination where penetration was confirmed by the medical doctor.   He said the case would be transferred to the State criminal investigation department for discreet investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police CP John B.Abang, fdc, after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.

  Though the #EndSARS protests have ground to a halt in Nigeria due to the curfew and violence that ensued after hoodlums hijacked the protests, Nigerians in other countries are still organizing #EndSARS protests.   Over the past few days, Nigerians in the diaspora and foreigners have taken to the streets to continue the protests. There have been protests in India, Germany, Hungary, and Helsinki, among others.   Photos from the #EndSARS protest in Helsinki, Finland, have been shared online. 30-Year-Old Nigerian Man Was Stabbed To Death By His Nigerian Wife In India Over Alleged Affair With Another Woman

  30-year-old Nigerian man, Obinna Emanuel was allegedly murdered by his Nigerian wife, Oge Abigail, in New Delhi, India after she suspected him of having an affair with another woman.  According to Times of India, police received an information from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital that a patient named Emmanuel with stab wounds had been brought for treatment by his wife but was declared dead on arrival.   By the time cops arrived the hospital, the woman had escaped. Officers, however, tracked her down and questioned her. She told police that they got married in September 2019 but started living separately since August 2020, after differences cropped up between them. However, they had been meeting often even after that. It was gathered that on October 25, Abigail went to meet Emanuel at his residence in Dwarka Mor but found another woman there.   A newborn baby wrapped in Ankara fabric was found abandoned inside a church in Obio-Akpor local government area in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.   It was gathered that the baby was found dead on Monday, October 26, inside the partially fenced church located at Ozuoba junction along NTA-Mgbuoba Road.    Residents of Ozuoba and Rumuosi communities in Obio-Akpor said the baby reportedly died as result of exposure to cold.

  Nigerians in Hungary held a candlelight procession to honour those killed in Nigeria during the #EndSARS protests.   The #EndSARS protests began on October 8 and continued till October 20 when uniformed men opened fire at peaceful protesters.   Prior to the Lekki shooting, a number of protesters had been killed during the peaceful protests, including Jimoh Ishiaq who was killed on Saturday, October 10, 2020, when a policeman opened fire during #EndSARS protest in Oyo state. Another death was also recorded on October 12 in Ojuelegba, Surulere, when police opened fire on protesters.   To mourn those killed while protesting police brutality in Nigerian, Nigerians in Hungary held a candlelight procession on Sunday night, October 25.   A placard from the candlelight procession reads, "For all the lives we lost in the fight to #EndSARS & #PoliceBrutality."     See more photos below:-    

Spain Declares State Of Emergency Until May 2021 Over Massive Coronavirus Spike

  The Spanish government has declared a second nation-wide state of emergency and ordered a nationwide curfew over a massive coronavirus spike.   This comes after Spain became the first European country to record more than a million cases of the virus.  Last Friday, 19,851 cases were reported along with 231 deaths. Some 20,986 positive tests were also confirmed on Thursday.    Spain’s prime minister, Pedro Sánchez on Sunday afternoon said his cabinet had approved a state of emergency that is set to remain in force until 9 May 2021.   "The reality is that Europe and Spain are immersed in a second wave of the pandemic," the prime minister said after a meeting with Cabinet colleagues.   "We are living in an extreme situation...it is the most serious in the last half-century," he told a news conference.   Lee Kun-Hee, the ailing Samsung Electronics chairman who transformed the small television maker into a global giant of consumer electronics is dead at the age of 78.    Samsung announced the death but did not specify the cause. Mr. Lee had been incapacitated since a heart attack in 2014. Gunmen Storm Cameroon School And Kill Several Children

  Gunmen stormed a school in southwestern Cameroon, killing at least eight children and wounding a dozen more, according to the United Nations.   The attackers who had guns and machetes arrived on motorbikes and in civilian clothes.   They attacked the Mother Francisca International Bilingual Academy in the city of Kumba, in the country’s Southwest Region, at around midday on Saturday, October 24.   The United Nations described the attack as “the worst atrocity” since the resumption of the school year earlier this month.   There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. It was not clear if the attack was linked to a continuing struggle between government forces and armed groups in the English-speaking west seeking to form a breakaway state.   “At least eight children were killed as a result of gunshots and attack with machetes.
